Hull City: Steve Bruce says owner Assem Allam entitled to opinion

Hull City manager Steve Bruce says club owner Assem Allam is entitled to an opinion, even if he wants Hull to play in "pink fairy dresses".
Allam said fans opposed to his plans to rebrand the club as Hull Tigers can "die as soon as they want", a reference to campaign group City Till We Die.
"I am happy to speak to the owner and give him my opinion," said Bruce.
"But if he wants us to play in pink fairy dresses then he is entitled to that view."
Hull fans display a banner during the win over Liverpool in support of the club staying as Hull City AFC
Owner Allam was present to see the fans' latest protests during the match against Liverpool
Allam, who took control in 2010 when Hull were in the Championship, wants to phase out "City" from the club's name and replace it with a Tigers brand that he believes is more marketable.
Reacting to protests against the proposal from some of the club's fans, the Egyptian-born 74-year-old businessman told the Independent that they "disturb and distract the players while taking away the rights of others to watch football".
Bruce says that he also hopes the issue will not draw attention from the achievements of his side, who sit 10th in the Premier League after beating Liverpool on Sunday, and he intends to talk to Allam to attempt to broker a "happy conclusion".
"At times when things aren't going so well it can create an atmosphere that no-one wants," he added.
"We should be enjoying the Premier League rather than talking about a badge or a name change.

Nice to turn over Liverpool - Bruce
"I think the chairman has put something like £70m into this club, so without him there wouldn't be a club or a 'Hull City' - it would be down the tubes.
"However I've got to have a conversation with him. I don't think he understands quite what it means to the history and the tradition."
The home fans displayed banners and sung in support of Hull City in their current guise against Liverpool and the City Till We Die group insists that it wants fellow fans "to continue their fine support for our fantastic team while positively expressing a preference for our current name".

Hull owner Assem Allam: Critics 'can die as soon as they want'

We've been debating this. The bloke needs a wake up call. Bloody bellend.

Love this quote - "They can die as soon as they want, as long as they leave the club for the majority who just want to watch good football." Image

All this is was was an ill advised tasteless glib remark responding to the Hull supporters group called 'City till I die'. Hence the remark.

We can either sell up and gamble our club for the chance of becoming a huge club one of the best. like man city and chelsea.

Or we can be happy with being premier league battlers year after year until we get relagated

I think I saw and heard the ground singing " We're city till we die" and to me that sends out a strong message. either toe the line or sell and f**k off as we'll still be here long well after you've gone.

Fans will always be there through the good days and dark days and not for some tw*t who uses the club as a play thing.

Well done Hull, stick to your guns.

There is a rumour doing the rounds that he's using this as a get out tool. Brought a Championship club and selling a Premiership club!!! Seems the way to make money in football these days

Forums are an outlet for information but not the mouthpiece for the majority of the fans. It's like our forum, they think they know best but when it comes to games it's split and probably more in favor of the non posting fans who are more vocal and the posters tend to become the silent few in the end till they get back behind the keyboard.
