' 7,000 Away fans Superb and Well Done '

Sun Dec 01, 2013 8:25 pm

Coventry City took 7000 fans to MK Dons yesterday and they were not let down down, Coventry Won. Superb Away support once again by them for a lower division team with no real home.

Coventry City have a average home gate of 2,169 this season and a average away following of 2,272. Incredible for a near bankrupt lower division club. Loyal fans

Also Well Done to Newport County today, they beat 2nd Place Chesterfield 3-2.

MK Dons - rubbish club with very little support and a lovely ground

Coventry - great club, excellent support, no ground

Ironic

That would be a first - a team's away support being higher than its home average

Excellent support by Coventry, and the 7000 leeds fans at Blackburn, and a special mention to the 550 chesterfield fans over RP today, just a pity they were so quiet

Good support for Chesterfield, I've never seen them fetch more then 150 to Cardiff.

Cracking win for you boys BTW. :thumbright:

Got to be fair, the best team lost IMO, and chesterfield definitely deserved a point, but then again we should have won away at Cheltenham and oxford, so swings and roundabouts.

That deji of yours is going to be one of the best defenders in English football for years to come, and we just want him on loan till the end of the season for back to back promotions, then you can have him back

Never know him and caulker might be englands central defensive pairing in two or three years, just in time for when they get knocked out in the group stages in WC brasil, and they feck hodgson off :thumbright:

ncfc nice to see our player is making is mark in the ceunty defence

i hear pompey away in 2 weeks time will be the best in terms of numbers following ceunty for the last 20 years .

on a serious note the problem with prem sides is trying to bring young players through will never work in the modern game . ceunty and the rest of your ilk will benefit from young players coming thorough our academy system

don't think we will ever see a ramsey again the way it's going trying to break through in our first team

I know where you're coming from MOZZ, as we both know that only 1 in several hundred youngsters will make it being a pro footballer, even if that's at league 2 level or a superstar in the premiership.

When I was a teenager in the early 80's following NCFC, and getting involved in off-field activities  it was the in -thing then, an un-known scouser arrived at Somerton park for a fee of £2500, and after half or dozen games, I told a few of my mates that he was going to be better than ian rush and they all thought I was fecking mental, the rest is in the record books. Did rush ever play in a world cup finals and who was the best striker? Probably have to ask a mickey mouser in his 50's for his opinion?
When you say you'll ''never see a ramsey again'' why not? I've just given you my opinion on a lad that I've seen play 7 full games for NCFC, and I honestly think that you've got the real deal there, as well as youngster who has shone this season for us in conor Washington, a £5K signing from kings lynn, and another player who will play in the premiership one day, and already a player that I rate slightly better than aldo..
I might be proved wrong on both, and neither makes it, but ive got a good feeling with these two, and if they can stay injury free and properly coached, they've both got great futures in the game, the one that your lad and thousands others have dreamt of :thumbright:

Remember back in the 90's when a certain team didn't have just one but five come through their academy in the same year iirc. Beckham, butt scholes Neville bros and a certain Cardiff lad who unluckily for CCFC missed out on, and I've got a big feeling those sarf London coaches who missed out on deji several years ago for their beloved millwall, Charlton or palace, are going to be as gutted as that kardiff scout who missed out to that manure scout 30 odd years earlier
