Dave Jones had no respect for anyone but himself.

He was arrogant,lazy,ignorant to fans,media and even staff at our club, that to me was part of his down fall.

DJ's biggest down fall NO Plan B.

Consistency was his big mistake because he could not produce any.

Well perhaps not quite true because when we were bad we were so for quite a long time under him.

I would say under Jones we had something like 3 or 4 periods of bad results during a season regardless of the quality of opposition. Under Malky I can only recall one bad period and that was not too the level that Jones took us. Malkys bad run, just before the league cup final I think, you always felt he was going to come out of it next game while under a Jones scenario it felt like never never.

In fairness to Jones when we were good we were damn good. Unfortunately it did not last long.

Play off final when we played Etuhu up front after Boothroyd went off. Selling McCormak....
And at home versus gypos when chopra was on the wing.

Apart from his cold approach to the fans and media, blaming most other things other than himself when it went wrong for us, I think his biggest mistake was not instilling the fighting spirit into the team; the fight that saw us come back against United last week.

Most of the time we went two goals down under DJ, heads dropped and it was a question of how many we lost by. This attitude was more prevalent in his approach to the derby games more than anything else.

"It's just another game; the fans expect too much".

the way he publicly criticised Matthews, I much preferred the football under DJ than currently under malky but DJ didn't have the best way of dealing with players, same good be said with malky mind with his handling of some players e.g velikonja and Conway at one point

i think id have been tempted to play Ramsey too, but he wasnt exactly a first team regular and only 17.
Ledely ran his contract down, and the club didnt offer him one that he thought was good enough,we couldnt compete with the wages he knew he could get elsewhere. Jones had the chance to sell him to Stoke on the final day of the Jan window,but refused to as he had no time to bring in a replacement..Stoke or infact no club came in for him the summer window.........i think a managers job is to keep good players..and in this case he did........Mathews..i dont get,especially the slagging off after the own goal..........but the man managment thing........your kidding......apart from Ramsey,who the whole world knew was a class act......hence the 5m.......who left us and set the world on fire?.... were bothroyd,burke,chopra,mcormack,olifinjana,mcnaughton,roger jonhson,louvens really THAT good?..even ledley and mathews are playing micky mouse football. i think there is a case that all of those played their best football with us.
