Best supporting cardiff suburbs.

Fri Nov 29, 2013 8:08 pm

Right im a llanrumny boy and saw my first game in 1973 along with many friends i had from school. Rarely did we ever pay but usually climbed up the sleepers and were dragged up by the older lads swiniging with one arm. Happy days. Anyway back then there were loads of llanrumney. Which is the best supported suburb now. :ayatollah:

Would be good to see season ticket numbers by county council districts.

Lanrumney was pretty good when I moved to Cardiff in the 70s. Probably a wider spread these days.

we took a ladder over rail tracks via shunter sheds late 70,s early 80,s and charged the older lads a pound note to climb up - many occasion we had tow pound off same people because they got caught lol :ayatollah: those were the days I bet our wooden ladder is still hidden by rail tracks ( riverside u-5,s) :ayatollah:

I remember a chant in the 70s of 'Aberdare and Merthyr'. The City have always had a big support from the valleys. All across South Wales, truth be told.

Hard to say
But my opinion is that it is probably Canton area just because its closer. But Llanrumney, Rumney, Trowbrideg, st Melloms, Ely, Grangetown, would not be far behind... all have decent lads as well

My big bruv billy used to help half of the canton kids nick into the back of the bob bank in the 70s he was built like Charles bronson and would just throw us up into the small gap between the top of the wall and the outer cladding ,a quick wriggle then a drop down from the back wall of the bob bank and the job was a good un

Ironically, have an 'A' Level in it ;)

Thought your original comment was 'amusing' and was just adding to the 'mix'

However, if we are talking 'geographically' in the greater sense, then check out the 'boundaries' for social and emergency services in Wales, where Aberystwyth tends to come under the same 'authorities' as Swansea as a rule. Admittedly not always, but certainly in the main :) :ayatollah:

In the 70s over railway lines from grange then over back wall and hide in bin for 2 hours or under the turnstiles and run like f**k.If that was know good at the back of the old grange , end there was little pot holes and i mean small, would get head through and as they were going in would pull us in.

In my slimmer days 80's early 90's we used to double the turn style and run into the ground
