Controversial Turkish manager Yilmaz Vural has been quoted by the media in his homeland as saying he is set to join Cardiff City but chairman Mehmet Dalman has denied any knowledge of a deal
Cardiff City chairman Mehmet Dalman has dismissed claims from Turkish manager Yilmaz Vural he is set to join the Bluebirds as 'rubbish' and 'fantasy'.
Malky Mackay's future as Cardiff managerwas shrouded in more mystery after Turkish media outlets linked veteran coach Vural with the Welsh club..
The 60-year-old was quoted as saying an 'agreement in principle' was in place for him to move to south Wales, the Turkish media even reporting he attended the Arsenal against Marseille UEFA Champions League match at the invitation of Bluebirds chairman Dalman.
But Dalman told WalesOnline he had never even heard of Vural and said he had been angered by the talk.
Vural has coached every team in the Turkish top flight, outside the big three of Galatasaray, Fenerbache and Besiktas.
The sudden speculation linking him with Cardiff comes amid ongoing uncertainty surrounding Mackay's position, despite the splendid work he has done in making the Bluebirds a competitive Premier League force.
Doubts have surrounded Mackay's future since Cardiff owner Vincent Tan dispensed with the manager's trusted lieutenant Iain Moody as Head of Recruitment.
However, Dalman insisted: "I've read the reports and I have to say I am quite angry by it all. I have never met the guy, never spoken to him and never even heard of him.
"It's pure fantasy. This is about some guy in Turkey trying to promote himself, but the story is total rubbish."
Asked about the reports at his pre-match Press conference on Friday morning, Mackay replied: “It doesn't concern me in the slightest.
"I have a job to do for Cardiff City and am focused on that. My responsibility is to my team and our supporters.
"My players have put in a huge amount of effort for Cardiff City over the last two and a half years. Our late equaliser against Manchester United again showed the fitness levels, character and never say die attitude we have.
"I am proud of them."
Mackay insisted his focus was upon preparing his team foir the Saturday afternoon clash with Premier League leaders Arsenal.
Vural, currently out-of-work after resigning from Elazigspor at the end of last season, has also been linked with League One Sheffield United, who have a Turkish director as well as League Two strugglers Portsmouth.
Vural is quoted in Turkish media outlets as saying: There is currently a manager at the team and these things are not like in Turkey, because compensation would be involved.
“This is a very desirable job because for the first time a Turkish coach will work in the Premier League.

Thats good enough for me.
Its pretty certain Tan wouldnt have heard of this manager, ive never heard of him and his chairman has never heard of him.
Im not saying Tan doesnt want to replace Malky at some point but I think this report is fantasy.

But why would this manager, probably respected in Turkey, as he has been around the block a bit, just make this story up?
Im very concerned.
Hopefully it was Palace who approached him prior to Pulis taking the job, not us as he doesn't actually stipulate the club in question.

Good to hear, the Turkish man is talking fantasy
Now I would like him to fully back Malky
See we make all reports no matter what, stickies

Just people stirring it up, good to see the club have cleared it all up
Fri Nov 29, 2013 2:06 pm

Why? Because he's out of work and using tactics to make Sheffield united offer him the job before 'we' apparently offer him the job. He's just promoting his name to get back into management and seeing as he's managed every club in turkey pretty much, he fancies a crack somewhere else. He's just calling sheff united's bluff I reckon.

Hmmm does he have to say it in every interview he has
On that note, I'm sure none of the players mentioned next season in their last interviews? Does that mean they're all leaving?

Good, now at last we can concentrate on important things like "babes, boobs & bums"

Sheff Utd have just appointed Nigel Clough so that sounds like bollocks too.

So he didn't get successful then, sheff united called his bluff. Think about it, linked with a premier league club and a league 1 club. Why can't people see that the guys a bullshitter. If tan wanted malky gone, he wouldn't think twice about it.

If tan wanted malky gone he would just put him on gardening leave like Jones and moody ,and appoint Someone else

The guy is far from respected in Turkey, how can you justify 22 teams in 27 years of management, he's a comedy act over there.

Just to get his name about, he knows if he says someone from Cardiff spoke to him that at the moment he would make the media. He wants people to know about him, know his name and his experience.
How many of us had heard of him before? how many have now? Our chairman has never heard of him before today and now he has, he just wants publicity. He mentions two lower league clubs which he didn’t rule out managing, all of a sudden he seems a better prospect to those clubs know a premier league club spoke to him. I just think it’s all fun and games.

Ridiculous these so called rumours being posted, some fans are really trying to stir things up, hoping by saying that malkys job is under threat then fans will keep up the grudge against Tan. If it wasn't so annoying it would be laughable.

We will see, the truth will be out soon, as Ive always stated the truth always comes out in the end
Fri Nov 29, 2013 6:10 pm
isn't this the truth - from Dalman himself - who Malky has already spoken of his 'utmost respect' for...
Mehmet Dalman insisted: "I've read the reports and I have to say I am quite angry by it all. I have never met the guy, never spoken to him and never even heard of him.
"It's pure fantasy. This is about some guy in Turkey trying to promote himself, but the story is total rubbish."
I'm sure SOME of the rumours have some substance, but this one and a few others don't add up at all and just sound like bollox to me.
Fri Nov 29, 2013 8:12 pm
If Dalman says that this story is rubbish, then that's good enough for me too. He seems to be the only sensible bloke left on the board.
