LAWRO/ARSENAL FANS ~ WHAT ARE THEY SAYING??

Fri Nov 29, 2013 12:10 am

Mark Lawrenson's predictions

I could say the same thing about Cardiff every time they play at home which is: "Didn't they play well in their last home game?" And that home form is going to be the key for them to stay in this division.
Wilshere finding form

It looks like Jack Wilshere is the latest Arsenal midfielder to hit some serious form and it is fantastic timing for Gunners boss Arsene Wenger.

Wenger almost has an embarrassment of riches in that department but he will not mind having people banging on his door, asking why they are not playing. Wenger can just say: "Well, we are winning every week without you. Just keep going and your chance will come."

In the case of Wilshere, he came into the side in an absolute blaze of glory and everybody knows about his ability and, therefore, his potential.

In the past season and a bit he has not really realised that potential, for various reasons. I just think he has realised that he will not get in the team unless he delivers, especially in his preferred position.

The Bluebirds got their reward for never giving up against Manchester United last weekend, and picked up a point thanks to an equaliser in injury time.
But I think things will be a lot tougher for them against this Arsenal team, who easily beat Marseille in the Champions League in midweek.
I find it amazing the Gunners have won four out of five games in Europe and are not yet through to the last 16, but that is what happens when you have got a really weak team in your group who lose to everybody, in their case Marseille.
I really fancy Arsenal to get another positive result here because, as hard to beat as Cardiff are on their own patch, Arsenal's midfield is going to be very difficult to stop.
Whatever happens this weekend, Arsene Wenger's side will be top going into December and, with the other teams around them stumbling, the Arsenal players must be thinking more and more that they have got a serious chance of winning the title with every week that goes by.
This Gunners team is not perfect but they are going to win an awful lot of games because they have got so much attacking talent in midfield.

Lawro's prediction: 0-2

We have 17 on our mini bus , 33 years ago we did a mini bus to Ninian Park for an FA Cup game , broke down but became a legendary night amongst our numbers , sadly two of whom have passed , we'll raise a glass to our mates & hopefully 3 points.

I was at that game.We drew IIRC,and I seem to remember some aggro in the big car park next to the ground.

This is a vital game and we'll have to battle for the victory. A win here would be a great result as Cardiff is proving a tough place to get a result.

United and City both failed to win here and if we are able to it would further demonstrate our resilience and strength in our bid to win the league.
We'll have to grind it out but given our away form and quality I expect us to win.

Not going to be easy game Cardiff beat Man city and Draw against Manutd at their stadium we need a good solid performance from our defense especially at set pieces i see Cardiff can score goals from set pieces, Özil should start this one!

By yellow ribbon,Yesterday, 11:05 AM
this won't be easy, Cardiff are one of those teams that can turn it on and give us a real battle.
I think it'll be tight, we may have to rest some players. Ozil looks knackered for instance. Maybe give Walcott a start?
If we rest Ozil I'll have to go for a different scoreline than usual. So I'll go for
3-0
Ozil hattrick

By fabo, Yesterday, 9:51 pm
I'd consider Santi on the bench again, then give him the midweek game as the central AM in Özil's position.
Cardiff are pretty average. Dangerous on set-pieces but if we score one or two, we'll surely win the game.

By Piskie, Yesterday, 08:58 PM
Also agree that Cardiff will be a tough proposition in their own backyard. I think we've got enought to beat them, but we'll have to be organised and clinical to get all the points. I'm going for a narrow 1-2 to us, but I think it will be tense.

By overmars , Yesterday, 12:36 PM
Got a feeling Cardiff may frustrate us but hopefully we do 'em. Ideally we need 6 points from Cardiff and Hull before Everton, City and Chelsea come along.

By bamble Yesterday, 01:53 PM
this will be tough, they are coming off a good result against united. a draw wouldnt be the end of the world but i fancy if we score first we wont drop any points and ride out the game 2-0.

I think Lawro has a fairly good understanding of football and his predictions can be fairly accurate.

That being said - if Lawros predictions had all come to pass then cardiff would be bottom with a grand total of three points & Man City would be top with twentyseven points

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25012699

We know how strong we are at home and what a top top team we can be.

Im not expecting a win.. but i sure as hell wouldnt be suprised if we came away with three points on saturday :malky: :malky:

Very fair comments from all of the gunners there and if we come away with any points I will be extremely pleased.

Lawro is an absolute c**t. I'd respect Graham Nortons views on football than I would this prick. There's no pundit I'd rather see jobless

 me too mate! Hate the guy!

Nice to see a fair assessment from away fans instead of the usual "EASY 3 points" that people come out with when they are coming to the capital!

It's speaks volumes as to how far we have come, when Arsenal fans say things like getting a good result against Cardiff if further evidence to their Championship credentials.

Loving the 13/2 on us to win.

Funny how start of the season everyone was saying Cardiff are gonna be pushovers and everyone is gonna steamroll them, look at it now they're saying we're tough to beat and shouldn't be underestimated

I remember reading all the reports about us after losing our first game to West Ham. Straight back down and all that shite from these football journo 'experts'. A week later and a win against Citeh, we are the darlings of the PL, sending shockwaves through global football. 'Experts' my arse. If you can't play it, teach it. If you can't teach it, write about it. Ian Wright said some very notably decent things about us then but the tossers slagging us off a week earlier had gone quiet. SO, I say, f**k them all and 2-1 to City. Show them no respect. :ayatollah:

Most of these "experts" don't know their arse from their head, if we went by their predictions we won't have won a single game this season and be sitting at the bottom with 0 points, just goes to show how quickly people write off the underdogs and they soon crawl back into their dank, dark little corners and never to be heard from when we either win or outplay the opposition

I predict 2-1 City. I also predict that Lawro will be wearing a cheap ill-fitting Ralph button-down shirt from TK Maxx. Scruffy Scouse Tit.
