I'm assuming he means if another club poached Malky they would have to pay us compensation.

The example of Swansea was with Martinez (Wigan), Sousa (Leicester) & Rodgers (Liverpool).

Its nothing new really its just a different way of doing it. Like under Jones, if someone wanted him they had to pay City the cost of his contract for a year. If we wanted rid of him we had to pay him for a year.

if Malky walks,he does not get paid
if another club are interested they ask us if they can speak with him { just like players }.
if we agree, and then he meets the intersted club,would like to go there, we then negotiate compo.
but just like free transfers with players, its possible our club will take the view we do not want compo.
in Swansea,s case,each time they lost a manager,he was someone THE CLUB {swansea } would ideally have liked to hold on to........does Tan want to keep malky enough to risk asking compo?. or would it be easier all round to just let him go?.
