Hull woman suffers shattered wrist as Hull City couple and great grandson attacked by Crystal Palace supportres.

Bang out of order. Hope the 9 year old recovers and has no mental issues. I'd love to see Palace fans try this in Cardiff, They'd get a good kicking and no one would complain.

A PENSIONER suffered a shattered wrist when she and her husband were assaulted by rival supporters as they drove home from a football game.

City fans Marie and Bob Hatton had been watching Hull play Crystal Palace with their nine-year-old great-grandson Ben and were caught in post- match traffic.

As they passed the disabled couple's BMW in an Anlaby Road traffic jam, two young men pushed each other in the road.

When Mr Hatton, 75, honked his horn at them, the pair responded violently, following their car as it moved slowly through the queue.

Mr Hatton, who suffers from crippling arthritis and walks with a stick, said: "When we stopped again, these two fellows got level with the car and were banging on the window.

"We don't know why they were stalking us. We don't know whether it was my City shirt or the stuffed tiger we have in our car.

"I've been going to football since I was seven or eight years old with my dad and I've never seen anything like it. It was one great big nightmare."

As their car travelled down the street, the two men – one aged about 25 and the other aged about 35 – continued to follow it, shouting abuse.

When Mr Hatton wound down his window to find out what the problem was, they swore at him.

"They were still hitting the car and shaking it," he said.

"They were being abusive. They were saying we lost the game and they won, and being really nasty."

Fearing the two Crystal Palace supporters would damage his car unless he stopped, Mr Hatton pulled over and got out to confront them. He was followed by his 73-year-old wife.

"The older man went over to my wife and barged her with his chest and pushed her," he said.

"She went head over heels and hit the kerb. She was screaming in agony.

"I was in tears. The man grabbed my walking stick out of my hand and they cleared off."

Other people saw what happened and chased after the pair.

They managed to recover Mr Hatton's walking stick and brought it back to him.

Mrs Hatton, who lives with her husband in Wawne, suffers from severe spondylosis and the couple have a disabled badge for their car.

She is due to have surgery on her wrist but doctors have said the damage may be irreversible.

The family are still in shock because of their experience.

"Bob has been having to dress me and cook for me," Mrs Hatton said.

"I can't even have a cup of tea. I was disgusted by what happened – I couldn't stop crying. I was in so much agony."

Ben was terrified and kept asking his nanna if it was his fault.

"My great-grandson was really, really upset," Mr Hatton said.

Palace are scum and my hatred for them has grown.

I've been in with Millwall and West ham at Selhurst and Palace haven't been anywhere to bee seen. It's been the same with us at theres and ours. Pick on OAPs when they have an opportunity to think they're hard. They should be ashamed.

Scumbags of the highest order. Like you say, they've never tried it when we've been playing them recently.

Two Cardiff fans hit an OAP Cardiff fan who was with his wife a couple of years back when we played Forest. In the car park. Some other Cardiff fans turned on the two lads and gave them a slap.

Scumbags at every club.

It would be a nice touch by Cardiff to make them special guests at our game in Feb,and make their Grandson mascot.Better still name and shame the Palace "Fans"..
