No doubt His lawyers wil get a reduced sentence due to depression or stress or some such nonsense.

Jules I would like to capital punishment brought back and this crime would be one of those that should be dealt with that way but as it is not then life should mean life and I don't think he should have 'privileges', like tv, books, recreation etc, the b*stard should have no pictures on his cell walls but just a bed and toilet and that is it.

I can only assume you havent got children but if you do I feel sorry for them because their father is a f*cking melt.

Whilst I abhor these actions as much as anyone else, making them punishable by a life (or even death) sentence actually endangers the victims even further. If there's not a significant dofference between the sentence for these crimes and murder, then the perpetrator could be encouraged to kill the victim to avoid detection.

You can't tinker with sentencing without looking at the bigger picture - however much you (and I) would like to see the b*stard hang.

Whatever our views on this whole sickening situation, it's such a tragedy that innocent kids have been abused like this. It makes for some harrowing reading and really makes you lose faith in a section of humanity. I can see a case for both arguments regarding the death sentence. Personally, I agree that it's the easy way out. I also agree that life means life. All this human rights bollocks. In my opinion, if you take a life then you lose your rights as a human. Child abuse should be on a level par.

The worrying thing is that Watkins is just one of the sickos that has been found out. How many others are there out there doing this right now and getting away with it? Not just celebrities but "normal" people as well. It's frightening and with one child myself it really makes me concerned about what world my son is growing up in.

first of all, everybody to their own but stop and think first of the LIVES these sick bastards have wrecked.

But sadly there have been just too many miscarriages of justice in the past.

Men and women have been killed by the state and not all if them were guilty - just can't have that can we, innocent people murdered by us.

Many convicted killers have had convictions overturned since capital punishment was abolished - what if they were one of yours? Would you get your spoon out for the coppers who got it wrong?

Until we resolve that problem it is a non-starter for me.
