I was told today, that Rudy Gestede has not just gone on loan till January with Blackburn, but will be signing a permanent contract with them in January if all works out, a deal has already been agreed and Gestede no longer features in Malky's plans.
So good Luck Rudy, genuine player, but in my opinion at best middle of the road Championship player.

True he does and its common knowledge, but Malky is a professional and continues to go about his job like one and you should respect Malky for that

Agree with you - his standard is Championship at best.
But he always seemed to enjoy being here, never caused any problems and scored two great goals against Forest last season which took us to the brink of promotion. Also played very well in the Carling Cup Final.
A trier, and will be appreciated for that.
Good luck Rudy - hope it works out for you.

It wasn't going to work for him this season with the players brought in, but he had a Prem appearance or two and now has a chance at regular football. Good luck to him.
If I were Malky, I'd have tried him up front with Campbell, to see if he could have held the ball up for the rest of the team - until Cornelius returned, anyway.

Agreed, seems a genuine lad, but certainly not good enough for the Prem and probably just about good enough for the Championship. Dont know why we gave him another 2 years mind! He must have shown a lot more on the training ground than he ever managed on the pitch

Still only 25 mind, so you never knows

Good young pro who has been shown the way by malky. A trier........and thats why so many city fans had respect for him...............we dont always ask much....especially the older ones.Good luck fella hope you have a good career.

good luck rudy

Think he'll do ok with a run of games at that level. Always gave his all when playing and you cant ask much more than that
Good luck rudy

Decent player and a great attitude good luck if he does leave for good.
If he does go though then I think we need to sign another big target man striker in Jan as we only have Cornelius as a big man option.
Wed Nov 27, 2013 5:21 pm
Scored a few goals, but missed loads of chances too. I think he was a free when he came wasn't he? In which case any fee is good business. Nice enough lad, who tried hard for us, but not even championship standard imo. Wish him good luck all the same.

Hes about as effective in the championship as ay botthroyd was for QPR. and thats good enough in this day and age. squad player who makes up the numbers and can step in and distract defenders

Where does it say he is leaving for good?
I dont follow Rudy on twitter.
I am saying the deal is virtually done, contracts agreed and Gestede happy with all terms and both clubs happy. But just say an injury or something like that occurred then, Cardiff would get him back in January.

Striker makes Rovers move with an eye to a January deal
Cardiff City can confirm that Rudy Gestede has joined Blackburn Rovers on an emergency loan deal until 1st January 2014.
The striker completed his medical at Ewood Park earlier this afternoon and
will sign on loan with a view to completing a permanent transfer in the January transfer window. He will link up with Rovers immediately, ahead of their SkyBet Championship match with Leeds United this coming Saturday.

You seem so sure of that, you do not fully know that is true.
Also good luck to Gestede on loan and if he does leave for good, all the best.
Got a lot of respect for him as he kept going and was working hard to improve aspects of his game.
Scored some vital goals for us and his passion for the club was always shown on the pitch and in interviews, a really top pro.

Rudy will do well for them, good luck to him, he did the Bluebirds proud on and off the pitch.

Spot on. I really wish him all the best in his career & he quite rightly has great memories of his time at Cardiff.

Respected papers like the Echo

Annis nothing concrete has come out about Tan wanting to get rid of Malky has it? I think its a load of tripe he's in the same position as the majority of managers in the division if he struggles he'll be gone whether Malky was at Cardiff or at a number of other clubs..
Thu Nov 28, 2013 10:34 am
Some on here were saying Rudy was barely Conference standard, yet Blackburn (one of biggest clubs in Championship) are willing to sign him.
He would be an asset for any Championship side, as he was for us the last two seasons

All the best Rudy!

good luck,,but simply not good enough

I do not know what some people saw in him. Yes he was big. That's it.
Hi touch was dreadful. He could not pass.
Without a doubt, one of the worst players city ever signed.
Good luck? No. Good riddance.

Totally agree ,no one knows tan wants him gone but if I was tan I would be looking for a top top manager to protect my investment ,after all we are talking 100 million here
