Aaron Ramsey has warned his old club Cardiff City there will be no let up in Arsenal’s title surge this weekend.

Malky Mackay’s Bluebirds, who grabbed a last gasp equaliser against Manchester United, are seeking to pull off their second Premier League upset of the week by halting the runaway table-toppers.

But Wales superstar Ramsey, who began his career with his home-town Bluebirds and also had a second spell here on loan, is determined to ensure Arsene Wenger’s Gunners don’t fall into the same trap as reigning champions United in the Welsh capital.

Inspired by the brilliance of Ramsey, Arsenal have already built up a four-point lead at the summit.

They go into Saturday’s big Cardiff City Stadium clash afterfacing Marseille in the UEFA Champions League.

Mackay’s men have performed nobly against the big guns at home so far this season, defeating Manchester City, drawing with Manchester United and Everton and only falling to a last gasp goal against Tottenham.

But Ramsey, who tweeted congratulations the Bluebirds after their dramatic draw with Manchester United on Sunday, spelt out the Gunners’ desire to keep their Premier League momentum going this weekend, saying: “We’ve created a fantastic opportunity for ourselves in the early part of this season and hopefully we can continue that.

“We know our form after Christmas has been second to none in the last few seasons. So we are totally focussed on putting ourselves in a position where we are there or thereabouts, because we are confident we can kick on in the New Year.

“We are hungry to win trophies and win games. That is no different this season to any other, but in the past we’ve got off to bad starts and had to play catch up.”

Of his own sublime scoring form, Ramsey said: “I’m enjoying myself, I’m really confident. I’m doing a good job and the team is playing well, so I’m happy with that.

“I’m keen to improve and keep enjoying the way I’m playing. I’m trying hard every day to get better and help the team win matches.”

Arsenal play some smooth flowing football, it's going to be difficult to say the least.
