" The emergency transfer deadline closes this Thursday "
There are eight players currently out on loan from Cardiff: Joe Ralls (Yeovil), Kadeem Harris and Ben Nugent (Brentford), Kevin McNaughton (Bolton), Craig Conway (Brighton), Adedeji Oshilaja (Newport), Simon Lappin (Sheffield United) and goalkeeper Dave Richard (Bristol City).

Strange decision to keep hold of Kevin McNaugton, Conway and signing Lappin, none of those were ever going to be good enough for the Premiership

Blackburn have moved to bolster their striking options by signing Cardiff City forward Rudy Gestede on loan.
Gestede has switched to Ewood Park initially on loan until January with a view to a permanent deal.
Blackburn chief Gary Bowyer has been looking to bring in a new striker and he has now completed a swoop for the Benin international.
The Frenchman has found himself down the pecking order at Cardiff this season, making just five substitute appearances for the Bluebirds.
Cardiff boss Malky Mackay is happy to loan out Gestede as he does not figure in his long-term plans at the Cardiff City Stadium.
The new arrival is expected to go straight into the Blackburn squad for this weekend's clash with Leeds United.

I thought exactly the same at the time, why give 2 of them new contracts, I was amazed.

Infact its easier to pick those that remain from the championship:
Marshall
Whittingham
Turner
Thats it I reckon. Campbell will remain but he joined us very late in the championship so I don't count him.
Marshall, Gunnarson, Taylor, Cowie all gone.

They were given new contracts BEFORE we signed cover for their positions. McNaughton especially was back up right back until we signed KTC. (mind you, i'm not sure about Lappin)

He is 25 though, it's not exactly young at that age if you haven't broken into a club that were one of the favourites for the drop... However, I do wish Rudy all the best but I doubt we will see him again playing for us in a competitive game

Yea I was speaking more generally when I said its a good way for youngsters to get game time. Don't know why, but I always think of Rudy being a lot younger than 25! He can do well at Championship level, if he can stay fit.
