Andrew Taylor

For me his performances have gone largely unnoticed so far, probably because he isn't the greatest attacking full back. However, defensively i truly believe he is one of the best left backs in the league. VERY consistent and he's what you want to see in a defender above anything else, he's extremely reliable.

Baines is England's obvious first choice at left back and rightfully so, but if he continues to play as he is atm, i think he should be in contention for the other spot along with Gibbs and Cole. Cole is past it imo, Gibbs has definetely improved defensively this season and he is also good going forward, but he is still a bit dodgy at the back and has often been caught out of position due to his attacking nature. Admittedly, it is probably a long shot, but you never know, we could be seeing 2 Cardiff defenders going to brazil next year  :ayatollah:

i like Taylor, for me he is good enough to have a good career in the premier league, ut he wont play for england! hes behind baines, cole, gibbs and shaw

i like taylor, he is solid enough, has a great cross, good touch and can get forward on occasions....but he is miles from england squad and this topic is a bit laughable. gibbs is above, and smalling at FB and luke shaw to name a few...

Look it was a fantastic performance by all yesterday but Taylor has made some costly mistakes this year. He was easily brushed off for the Spurs goal too

He never gets tight on his man which appart from yesterday normally allows the opposition to make the most of that space available.

Second topic in 24 hours that think Taylor is good enough for England. They have; Cole, Baines, Shaw, Gibbs and Danny Rose. He'll never get near the England squad.

Taylor lacks pace for a modern full back and his positional awareness is poor.

He is okay for now but in January if a LB comes up then we should be looking to replace him.

I think that he's a pretty good left-back myself

i agree, i thought he was the weakest link going into the season but hes been alright so far. however he is miles from the england set up and i do think we need someone as good as theo on the opposite side.

KTC is closer to the French squad then taylor is to the England team in my opinion. Weve got two quality full backs

i like him fine. when he arrived we had been thru a few years of left back hell (naylor the failer anyone?) and he has been great since he arrived, made the step up well. hes not the best in england but good enough. i thought it was interesting how when asked about campbell being possible for a cap in the sky post match interview malky turned the topic around to unsurprisingly caulker but also whitts. i had never considered whitts getting in the england team before this despite being his biggest fan. the more i think about it its not so ridiculous, but im not sure if he has the tempremant for international football?

Personally, I thought Taylor would struggle this season against the quality wingers in the Premier League, but he's done very well so far! :D

Got to be honest premiership wingers have disappointed me!

I'd almost say the championship ones are better

Can't agree with that mate, but I think that a big part of keeping Premier League wingers quiet, is down to team ethics and Taylor, along with KTC has had a fair bit of cover from our respective wide men, who have played in front of him!

Not costing us many games and he is a good Left Back.

However we do need a back up and someone who plays mainly as LB as we have a lot of versatile defenders who don't know their best position.

I hope/think Declan John can do it

I have faith that he can, a lot of full backs in the Prem are usually better attacking than defending these days and youngsters are usually full backs in the Prem.
