Malky's Tactics

Mon Nov 25, 2013 12:44 pm

Spot on again, substitutions were inspired (Nooney won free kick and Kim headed it in) and proved his teams can play positive, attractive football when it is necessary.

Possibly the best manager in the club's history and genuinely one of the top managerial talents in the country, surely destined for massive things.

VT should be grateful that he got off with the rebrand fairly lightly, he will surely not be so fortunate with a stupid decision in sacking Malky. The only reason to rip up Malky's contract is to give him a new, improved one :malky:

He got it totally wrong V Villa and spot on against United, he needs to find that consistancy now.

you say that yet we controlled a lot of the ball in the first half, without doing much with it sure, but would probably have come out of there with a good 0-0 draw had it not been for Medels needless challenge that led to the first goal.

I think if your going away from home with the midfield we played against Villa your going to struggle. We were never going to create anything in the end Villa were most likely going to get a goal and they did.

If he played our line up yesterday against Villa I would have felt a lot more confident

personally dont see that there was too much wrong with the set up at Villa. i was sat with the home fans and they were getting frustrated with the game, really couldnt see them scoring if it wasnt for the superb free kick.

Villa were ready to be beate, they had a poor home record and hadnt scored at home for ages and we went all defensive.

As soon as the team was announced it was obvious we were very unlikely to score as we had no creative players. i think we will have to agree to disagree but I thought the Villa starting line up was a shambles.

9 of the 11 players who played yesterday, hardly a "shambles"

That was the problem though we had no creative players adding two creative players like Campbell and Mutch give you so much more options in attack.

And with the greatest respect I could have understood him going more defensive against United who were in good recent form than against Villa who had a horrible record at home.
