Sheffield Wednesday have called an emergency board meeting tomorrow to discuss their manager Dave Jones future after a terrible run of results.

dave jones one win all season next five games against top ten teams - emergency meeting held at Hillsborough tonight I think a taxi will be waiting for Mr Jones ? and if he survives this week the next few games will be very tough and the writing is on the wall

Taken from a blog written by a Wednesday fan today.

If I had a pound for every win the Owls have had won since April 10, I would be able to buy just one lottery ticket.

Man management and leadership is a key element of any successful team. Certain players need the 'hair dryer' treatment, others need that arm around them and a quiet word.

At Wednesday there seems to be little leadership shown by Jones. His lack lustre post game interviews and recycled excuses are starting to rub the fans up the wrong way.

As a Wednesdayite it is accepted that the club are not going to attract high calibre players . What is not accepted is a side with no desire, fight, passion, will to win, pride in the shi rt. It is easy to single out a player and say he was poor or blame a refereeing decision.

The buck stops with the manager, he picks the team and dictates team tactics. There is a basic drill that is taught to all school children learning the fundamentals of the game, pass and move.

Today we saw nothing of that, come on MM pull the plug before it is too late.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have said it on a number of occasions and say it once more there is something very strange that is happening here Look at it logically If Wednesday only received payment when they won MM would be a fortune out of pocket
Here is a Manager with a team most of his signing who have not kept a clean ###### all season and won one match out of about 18
The attendances will go down and down Did you see them leaving today at 85 mins
Something something very odd but what???????????]

Spoken to Milan Mandaric. Confirms he's had a long chat with DJ and tells me "he is still the manager" and "will be there next week.

Of all the jaw dropping tactical things he has done dropping Kirkland must rank as number 1 in the stupid/pointless chart.

It was nothing to do with his arrogance. It was based on too many loan players and lack of commitment.

Oh it certainly was, by the end the players were not interested in playing for him, he lost the dressing room.

Yes, he got us as far as he could and we enjoyed some good times with DJ; he's one of the most negative managers I've ever seen though. Not so much tactically, but in terms of personality. Very cold towards the supporters, and nothing was ever his fault. He was like one of those teachers who hates kids.
