He is a Welsh footballing legend / hero. We havent had many in our lifetime.

I will be clapping him because of that not because he is a Cardiff fan, he never claimed he was, unlike Bellamy who claimed is a Cardiff fan but is really a Liverpool fan.

I won't be clapping him because he's a manc c**t who (I'm afraid deep down) don't give a flying f**k about Wales.

Probably felt embarrassed coming off international break whilst all his footballing team mates were going abroad to play for there country. Faking injurys for years and that's true all day long and because the c**t has all this time on his hands then his public affairs have put the nail in his coffin. The guy is a prick and I hope and pray we kick the f**k out of him and boo him every time he touches the ball!!!! First class prick

64 caps for Wales. Couldnt have been that embarressed. So he didnt play meaningless friendlies. Big deal. He was a special talent that needed to be preserved.

What an angry bloke! Hes not only a welsh legend but a football legend who will go down as 1 of the best! To do what hes doing at his age is unreal, Deserves abit more respect from a few on ere IMO

64 caps but in how many them did he have a good game, for such a great talent ?

He missed most of the friendlies, and journey men players from the lower divisions stood out more for their effort in the games he did play in. In his early years, with Rush, Hughes, Sanders, Ratcliffe etc, he may have shone in matches, but apart from 1 free kick I can't recall a highlight memory.

When he was made captain his attitude changed and he became a good leader on and off the pitch, but he had taken part in over 50 matches by then.

I think that living in Machester all of his life detached him from how the majority of Welsh players feel for their country. Players like Ramsey, Bellamy, Gunter were brought up in the valleys & Cardiff knowing how the local people felt. He was not helped by a Scottish manager.

For a country of so few top talented players, he should be revered like a god, but he is not. It cannot be without reason that so many Welsh fans say negative things about him.

How can anyone cheer a guy who has slept with his brothers partner? Not only is he a despicable man, but he only bothered turning up for Wales when he felt like, and how many good games did he have? Welsh hero? My arse! I will definitely not be applauding him Sunday, I will be booing him actually!

I really hope we boooooo every time he touches the ball!! I will.

I'm a Cardiff fan against the opposition. I'm not going to make him feel comfortable ever!!!

Any one who spends some 50k having an emblem (welsh dragon) tiled into there swimming pool must be a little patriotic.

So why did he choose to play for Wales, when he could have taken the easy option and play for England, I think you have got this one totally wrong. I really hope we win on Sunday, even better if we stuff them, Ryan included, however the man is a legend, he may have been brought up in Manchester but he will always be a Cardiff boy at heart. :malky: :malky:

To be honest Annis don't know why you started another thread on this subject.

Re: ' Ryan Giggs ' The Media/Fans

As I stated in the other thread, Real Madrid supporters recognised and fully acknowledged what the guy had achieved in the game, even though he was playing against them in a what was a really important fixture.

We all want a win against United, but as so called football fans we should, in my opinion recognise and applaud what the guy has achieved in the game, let's be totally honest here, it's hardly going to affect the result of the game!

He wasn't ever eligible for England.

Rubbish! We should unsettle every Man Utd player to put them off, boo, whistle, be the 12th man and give OUR team an advantage! Sod Giggs, he's done nothing for Cardiff City and only put in a handful of decent performances for Wales. We owe him nothing and like I said, he's a despicable human being sleeping with his brothers misses! He doesn't deserve anything from us!

That's your call and your fully entitled to do what you feel is right .

Personally as not just a Cardiff City fan but a football fan in general, I like to appreciate a talent in the game and there's not been many better in my lifetime .

I'm not disputing he's been an unbelievable player over the years but he never really did it for Wales and continuously ducked out of friendlies, so I never respected him, but sleeping with his brothers partner makes him a sick, despicable person in my opinion.

Footballing legend? Yes
Welsh legend? No

I will be booing him Sunday.

As I said , that's your opinion and I fully respect it .

Whether or not he's a welsh legend doesn't really bother me, could be Zidane or maradona out there, as a football fan in general, I appreciate class when I see it, and Giggs as a footballer just oozes it !

Re: ' Ryan Giggs ' The Media/Fans

I'll be clapping him because I looked up to him when I was younger. Being one of the best in the world and from Wales, he was always in the spotlight. It's also possibly the last time I'll see him play. Players like him don't come round very often

Re: ' Ryan Giggs ' The Media/Fans

llandaffbluebird it's true had it done a few years ago now but sorry got no proof

as for sunday i,m more interested in how rooney plays following the thread the other day on here

giggs welsh legend end of but his lack of welsh appearances in frendlies leaves a stale taste in one's mouth to many welshman/women me thinks

be interesting to see how many times bale will turn up for frendlies over the next few years

Re: ' Ryan Giggs ' The Media/Fans

Thu Nov 21, 2013 9:55 pm

We have no reason at all to applaud him. Being Welsh and a Manchester United legend isn't a good enough reason.

As he was born in Wales to Welsh parents he could only play for Wales. He played for Engalnd schools as he went to an English school.

Some of our fans are hypocrites.

Many of you are slating him because he didnt show for Welsh friendlies......the same people urging Bellamy to retire from internationals or to miss friendlies and rest his knees

Different circumstances though. Giggs isn't suffering from a long term injury as far as we know and is a bit-part player for United.

Whereas Bellamy has had bad knees for years and Malky clearly feels he is important for us (hence the amount he plays) so fans wanting him to retire from Wales to make sure that a long term knee injury is avoided. It is totally justified to as why Cardiff fans wanted him to retire.

Giggs had chronic hamstring problems for years andwasnt a bit part player for Man Utd when he played for Wales
