FAW Response

Tue Nov 19, 2013 10:38 pm

Shaun
Let me start and make it clear the views I give are those of my own and not those of the F A Wales
OUR VIEWS WILLNOT AGREE IN PLACES BUT LOOK AT THE PICTURE AS A WHOLE

As you state I do reply to e mails and 99.99% I do so please give credit where it,s due

Do I believe in Chris Coleman? You must go back to when he took over, after Gary he tried to carry on in the same way as Gary but it did not work for him, he found it difficult. He then changed his ways and lost 2 games until the last 2 games in the world cup competitions
Indeed the results one win and one draw was a fair reflection. In view of that I feel that continuation was a must, players could work with him as a WHOLE. I feel it was the right decision. Was there nobody better? That is a matter of opinion for example you MAY think that Laudrup is a brilliant Manager someone else would not agree it is about someone views I am afraid.
Is it because you have no money to get a good manager? You must remember thatWales is a small Association and very dependant on TV rights, we need to keep to the regulations as set out by FIFA and UEFA otherwise we would not be recognised, England for example is big organisation and is a wealthy organisation us in Wales not so but we would look at the situation get the right balance and then make a decision. It,s no use the FAW making appointment at a cost of £2million per annum to a manager when we only have £1 million the balance has to be right (that was just an example)
As regards the FAW committee a panel has been set up under my chairmanship to make changes we have given that report to the Council and a meeting will be held on the 11th of Dec
To make a decision, 85 changes recommended, Will it go through? Honestly. I do not know one example is to bring younger people on to the FAW plus many other changes,
John Hartson decided he had private issues but we felt as John was so passionate to his country it was good to bring his experience to the players as well
I do not get involved in tactics such who is the captain but I may be wrong here but should we be doing what is good for Wales and not look at it as a Cardii/ Swansea issue, that is the feeling I am getting from you on this.
We will look anywhere for a manager who fits In with the FAW and Wales criteria.
In your 5th para you refer to John Toshack? Again I feel the Cardiff/ Swansea issue coming out
The James Collins issue is not as bad as what the press have said but I fully understand your
Views but the press made a mountain out of a mole hill. DO YOU BELEIVE ALL THE STORIES IN THE PRESS.? If you do then Please don,t

You do have to admit there are people out there that love to criticise but I think CC was not referring to fans. Although personally as I have stated publicly there are different views from different people that is one thing you can not stop
Now let us look at the FAW (8th para)
We are setting up a panel to look at this,as regards Gareth Bale in Spain remember club football is different in many ways than International we do need to tackle this issue and as could be seen we only charge a £1 for children for the Finland game. I note not much said about that, I agree that we should take advantage that we have players such as Ramsey,Bale to bring in finances but again there are contracts who don,t allow us to a point
I can not agree with the issue of advertising games but we do have a problem with publicity from A press organisation who SEEMS to be against football at international level anyway.
You say Do whatever it takes. Get off your arse. To me that shows a lack of respect you have when sending e mails up to then it was a good and sensible e mail then you let yourself down by stating such a comment.
In closing it seems that you are anti C! fine. You have your views others have views as well so please respect everyone's views.
I appreciate your views I do hope you respect mine be it in support of yours or not.
We are ALL here for the game in Wales including you. We will not agree but I will make sure that I support my country through THICK AND THIN AND HOPEFULLY YOU AS WELL

HOPE THIS HAS BEEN OF HELP. THERE ARE SOME THINGS THAT HAVE TO BE KEPT IN CONFIDENCE SORRY ABOUT THAT

After a few more emails a better response

Shaun

Your keeping me up late tonight(don't mind)

No other manager was discussed. We will consider anyone BUT remember we have to balance things out. The London papers put it out that CC was in contention for Crystal Palace NOT FAW.
FAW outdated? Agree I am very strong on changes and move ahead BUT are the rest of the FAW Council members who were elected by the way by Welsh Football Clubs

85 changes? True you can obtain the Governance report by asking the FAW. 02920 435830 ask for Jan Hoskins or Llyr. It was on the Welsh Assembly Government web site
Remember I am FULLY SUPPORT OF THE CHANGES

It looks that your a WELSH supporter and I agree that 2 results don't make a manager but AS A WHOLE I feel we have done the correct decision only time will tell

Regarding brining supporters back as I said we are looking at it BUT I DO NOT HAVE TO SAY SUCCESS WILL DO IT. ANOTHER BAD DECISION BY UEFA is playing on Tues and Fri bad decision.

Now to the real problem I have
In the Governance review the council members decided that the Governance should be looked on the FAW BY THE FAW. Bad decision in my opinion. I was selected to chair the panel I choose the panel from within the FAW I had no option I felt we should go to our stakeholders people within the game, Leagues, Clubs, supporters, business people, government etc. BUT THE FAW COUNCIL MEMBERS REFUSED ME TO DO THAT. Turkey,s won't vote for X/Mass comes to mind.

I hope that this will be of help. Anytime you need to speak then do. Contact me on
01407 ******. OR. 07*******68

Please give me your thoughts
