' Craig Conway wants to stay on at Brighton '

Tuesday 19th November 2013

Scotland midfielder Craig Conway has reiterated his desire to prolong his stay at Brighton & Hove Albion.

Conway is currently on loan at the Amex Stadium from Cardiff City and is enjoying a run of regular football which has helped him earn a recall to the Scotland squad.

However, Conway's loan spell is due to expire next month when he will have to return to Cardiff.

"It's going really well at Brighton. I'm playing, I'm enjoying it and that's what keeps me in with a chance of a Scotland jersey," he told The Argus.

"My emergency loan runs out on December 14, you're only allowed 93 days, so I can't go out on loan again or move permanently until January 1.

"I've got games to play before I need to worry about that. I could potentially go back to Brighton, though. I'll just need to go back to Cardiff and train.

"I'd rather be out playing than sitting rotting away at Cardiff. I'd hate to be one of those players who sits and just picks up his wages at a team. I want to play."

Don't like his attitude but in fairness he is more or less right and be better for us both if he moved on.

He has been great for us and been important in the past 2 seasons.

What? :? You don't like the fact that he said "I'd rather be out playing than sitting rotting away at Cardiff. I'd hate to be one of those players who sits and just picks up his wages at a team. I want to play"?

Explain how you don't like his attitude? He wants to play football which is understandable.

Because we still haven't strengthened in the attacking areas so there is still a bit of hope for him to fight for his place. Cowie is getting games..

He was loaned out for a reason. I'm sure Malky will get at least a winger in January and Noone isn't playing so that's probably another reason Conway can't see himself playing for us again.

In my opinion, he's a better player than he's given credit for. I was surprised he wasn't in the 25. If he was told the same as last year, which I presume was, "you're backup, but we're open to you playing your way into the team," I reckon we could've had a decent option on the wing...not superb, but decent enough for where we are.

If he can get first team football at Brighton, then good luck to him. I've enjoyed watching him at Cardiff, and will wish him the best whether he leaves or not.

Craig has been bloody brilliant for us. Has been on top form and is getting better by the match. He's quality :ayatollah:
