Because we're still a league 1 club behind the scenes in some respects.
Either that or they haven't bothered as nobody is buying the stuff anyway.

I went into the Villa store before the Villa game last Saturday and that is a Superstore ! There is no comparison.
Their store was 3-4 times bigger than Cardiff's and they must sell hundreds upon hundreds of different items that Cardiff do not. The coats, jackets, polos etc were sheer quality and there were up to a 100 different designs.
I think the club have a lot to learn in that respect and it's the club that are loosing out on money !
On that note I have picked up every programme so far this season and City,s is the worse of the lot ! Most others are bound programmes, with decent paper quality and the content is far superior. We seem to be a way behind.

I liked our programme the season before last, but this year's is shit. My Swansea programme got destroyed from a bit of rain.

I've worked in retail all my working life and I have to say its the most uninviting shop I have ever been in.
It's so bloody dark in there for a start.

We're still behind other premiership clubs when it comes to merchandice/programmes because we're new to it.
Saying that, I couldn't care if our store shut down with all the disgusting red in it.

Leaving everything else aside, most of the stuff on sale is in the wrong colour, and has the wrong badge on it.
Sorry to bring it up again, but the 're-brand' has created a sizeable group of fans, who go to games, but won't buy any of the merchandise. Myself included.
Was never into the replica shirts, but the polos, coats, lapel badges were worth wearing, up until last season.
Some of the 'retro' stuff is pretty good, (like the air fresheners for cars, some badges etc.,), but most of the new stuff is of very poor quality.
Unlike the Aston Villa superstore, we will never get good stuff until either we go back to our historic colours and badge, or until everybody gets to like the 're-branded' merchandise.
Don't hold your breath, either way. A truly terrible state of affairs!

Let's not forget that the vast majority of the clubs in our league are bigger than us.
