' A Massive Mistake in My Opinion '

This to me shows Wales are going further back in the dark ages and have lost thousands of fans over the years and Coleman getting another 2 years, will certainly not help attendances or make Welsh fans believe there is a future now for Wales in the next coming years.

He had been linked with the vacant manager's role at Crystal Palace.
Coleman's future with Wales has been the subject of speculation following a disappointing World Cup campaign.
Wales finished fifth in Group A, winning just three of their 10 games.
The former Fulham, Real Sociedad and Coventry City boss, whose current contract expires after Saturday's friendly with Finland in Cardiff, had said he was undecided about continuing in the role.

It's actually the FAW, not the 'Welsh FA' or the 'WFA'.

Coleman is useless. I couldn't care that he is a jack. He has poor man management skills. He cannot motivate. He will not accept responsibility for actions.

Wales has a core of very good players available including Ben Davies, Aaron Ramsey, Gareth Bale, Ashley Williams and various talented youngsters coming through the ranks. Gary Speed nurtured the talent and got Wales playing to a system that worked. Within a few games Coleman destroyed everything and the only people who can't see it are the gin slinging dodderers at the FAW

Here we go again. Can't say I'm surprised.

Coleman was always going to struggle replacing Speed. Gary had the whole of Wales behind him, the squad loved him, and the press also took to him.
Never been a fan of Colemans, but I do feel a bit sorry for him. Its almost like the FA have given him the job on the cheap and even if he fails, they'll win because they can sack an unpopular manager.
No ambition whatsoever.

I don't think he was the right man in the first place, and the FAW are the FAW as everybody knows them.

However, we had a decent result or two in the last couple of qualifiers so hopefully there's some momentum there to be taken advantage of. It'll be interesting to see how the team is set out now Bellers is out of the frame. I'd like to see Earnie back in the squad for his experience.

I have to Agee... I was disappointed with the appointment of Coleman in the 1st place, when he brought Hartson in that finished it for me...

I haven't been since and was hoping for a fresh approach on the next euro campaign...

I won't be goung and will miss another set of qualifiers.

I can remember when we used buy tickets in advance for every Wales game and we would have the same seat at the millenium stadium... £99 for all home qualifiers and our lowest crowd was around 45-50k v Azerbaijan

Should have appointed the Dutch Geezer, at least he knows how to coach!

Re: ' A Massive Mistake in My Opinion '

Thu Nov 14, 2013 8:47 pm

I like Cookie...

But not as a coach. Certainly not as Welsh coach.

The FAW had a chance to appoint a good experienced coach who could utilize the full potential of our young squad.
Sadly they went in another direction.

A Yes Man.

THATS WHAT THEYVE WANTED FROM THE START.

Sad to see.....

Top players will often pull out of internationals for the sake of the club career, happened in the past, and will again.

A complete and utter joke, the laughing stock of world football. Some people are saying they want to play for him, I can assure you THEY DO NOT. Yes you will get a few who say it just to get in the team, like that little jack who plays for Liverpool, but the majority of players are pissed off. Oh well that's me out. :x

Agreed it must be costing Wales a fortune in lost revenue. I doubt Palace were really interested, but the timing would have been helpful for Coleman........

What an uneducated and misinformed comment. Every player (with the exception of Myhill, Vaughan and Crofts) has made the effort to join the squad for this friendly.

Re: ' A Massive Mistake in My Opinion '

Chris Coleman not every Cardiff Fan cup of tea but for me the only candidate available who we can afford to do the job that suits the squad we have; I think under his short managerial stint the squad is showing signs of improvement and if he can get all our best players fit and available we have half a chance. His philosophy is to play football on the deck and all our best players play for those types of teams; Arsenal, Liverpool, Real Madrid Swansea. A bit inconsistent I know but young squads are and need time to develop.

Clear improvement from the early mauling from Belgium and Serbia to the wins against Scotland, and Belgium, personally I thought we were unlucky away to Macedonia caught on the break, and we were much the better team against Croatia at home losing late on 2.1 although we should have been 3 up at half time. if those games had gone our way we would be in a play off place now.

people are to hasty to sack managers these days give him another campaign to see what he can do. Mark Hughes team 2004 qualifiers won 4 drew 1 lost 3. 2014 won 4 lost 4 a difference of one point yet the perception of performance is a lot different with that team after wins against Finland away Italy home, and Azerbaijan home and away, but is there much of a difference? Belgium win away with the players available to us was as good a display of any of the aforementioned games. Give him a chance and get behind your National Team.

Small margins make the difference the players are working hard for him we might make that difference if we take our rose tinted Glasses off!

over the past 10 years i have missed very little watching Wales, but after going to watch Wales play Serbia it was my final straw under Coleman, the only way i would go back to watch Wales under him if we have Spain, apart from that Wales have lost my support for another 2 years SAD TO SAY IT TOO
