You can stand up for man city, man utd, swansea, but from arsenal onwards anyone standing gets ejected instantly!!
Well if they do that where I am situated(ninian 117)then 2 things will happen.
1-They will have to throw about 100+fans out of this block alone.
2-Stewards are going to get a whack no doubt.
I know for a fact that it's been close to blows a few times and if it carries on then it's just a matter of time.
I saw them against Newcastle scribbling down everyones seat numbers and threatening the young fans(bully boy tactics)
Our club just want an atmosphere when it suits, mainly when it's on sky t.v. f*cking double standards.
THREATS,THREATS,AND MORE THREATS!!!!!

JOHNNY will be along shortly to set you all straight.

the only way to beat that my friend is either move to a "standing" seat or everyone in your block stands up and stays standing!
As well as mix it with the stewards
Thu Nov 14, 2013 11:29 am
What I witnessed in the Ninian Stand at Newcastle, was stewards using totally the wrong tactics to get people to sit & winding up the fans more by doing so.
As I've already said, the stewards should start from the bottom and work their way up; the problem was at Newcastle that they tried to get people in the middle to sit first, they wouldn't because people in front of them were standing & it was chaos.
I don't mind sitting or standing, but if someone is adamant they want to stand, then spot hey should really go to the Canton stand.

Most of the block stand regardless, but when the stewards move in it gets rather heated to say the least.Last year a steward who I know told me he was threatened on a sunday afternoon while playing golf at his local club by a couple of city fans who recognised him.On the other hand a steward in block 117 once told us that he f*cking hated Cardiff city and was a Cardiff blues fan(that was when we shared the stadium with the twats). It will come to blows soon- our club are full of hypocrites and nash fucked that seating plan right up!!

I went in the seats at Hereford away last year, as for you who can remember Hereford, the terracing view from behind the goal at edgar street, is probably one of the worst in the country.
I think it was called the Cargill stand? Anyway after standing up 20 minutes into the game, right at the back of the stand, so no-one behind me this tw*t of steward came up and demanded not asking politely for about 8 of us to sit down, well you can guess what the replies he got.
He stormed off saying he was going to get the local gestapo, but no OB came, probably told the wannabe copper to do one. These idiots on minimum wage, who think they're something special for 120 minutes, need to have a think, and is it worth risking getting a slap for £20.
Got to say that the stewards over the county, are probably the best I've ever seen, watch the game for free, and get a few quid for doing so, and then go for a few pints later courtesy of NCFC. Not really rocket science is it

Go stand in the Canton stand if you don't like the rules

What rules? That it's ok to stand in one seated section but not in another? How can those be rules, they have no legal nor logical grounds
The club have made a rod for their own back, they can't pick and choose when they allow standing as when they want to enforce the so called rules then people will just be frustrated and as the OP says, it will ultimately lead to problems. Dialogue is needed the club should canvas the Ninian ST holders find out exactly who is happy to stand and move them all to the back of that section, it wouldn't be difficult, just one text to all and then start allocating new seats. Everyone would be win- win

The club own the stadium, they have stated if you want to stand, you are welcome to do so in the Canton stand. If you stand in the Ninian Stand there will be consequences. I'm sorry, to me the facts are simple. I used to be in the Ninian stand, I wanted to stand up so I moved to the Canton stand.

Say your standing in a block and there's 50-60 others standing and a steward attempts to throw you out!! you either got to take it on the chin, or if you overstep the mark you will be banned for life.
Either way you just can't win, they got you by the bollocks!

where does it say i'm going to give them a whack???????????
read the post properly or you f**k off!!

Don't need to read your post again. I think I can work out your approach from my first view. Whether you whack a steward or not it's obvious you only care about your own enjoyment. If they have to throw a hundred out of 117 then they'll be hundreds more who can sit again and enjoy their time watching the game from the seat they've paid for.
It's always the same story in these standing posts. Always your right to stand that counts more than the ones who want to sit in a seated area. Elderly people, disabled, shorter than average people buy seats in the Ninian so they can see without people standing in front of them.
Do the decent thing and move to the area where thr club is turning a blind eye to standing to placate those who prefer to watch that way.

Fans have been standing in that section of the Ninian since the stadium opened and stewards have only been hassling for about two years now. If fans want to sit then they should know that's not the section to be sitting in.

Ironic, seeing as you've reported me numerous times in the past.

Funnily enough, I totally agree with you... It's one way or the other.. Allow it for some and not others just confuses everyone and causes problems.

I understand your point but it does have a flaw. When a group stand in any area, say 117 as an example, it has a knock on effect to other sections. If a group are standing across an isle then that can spread to other sections. I've sat in 115 and you can see it happening. Before long it really does catch loads of people who then have to stand to see some of the action. Inevitably the relatively small numbers who want to stand appears much bigger than it actually is. I think this leads to inflated claims about the numbers in 117 who are standing because they want to, as opposed to standing because they have to.
We all stand at away games because nobody stops you, that's not really possible to police with away fans. I don't see that as other grounds allowing standing. At least our club breaks Premier League rules in one area and doesn't hassle people standing in the middle of the Canton.
I had to move from there because members of my family couldn't see. I think I've compromised already by moving from my prefered section to an area that's designated as all seating.

As someone who used to stand in 117, look fair enough, if the club want people to sit down there then enforce it. But what pissed me off is the inconsistency. For the big games, where the club want an atmosphere, they let people stand. So how the hell can they complain about people standing at other games? its total hypocrisy. Either standing is ok, or it isn't. You can't have a mixed message!

I have read this thread now, maybe missed a few points, I'm sure someone will put me right if I'm wrong, but...............
Why do the stewards deserve a whacking????????? surely they are following instructions and doing their job as directed
Sure there may be a few over zealous, but many are city fans and doing the job they are paid to
I like to stand and watch the match, many don't. We're all different. I will try to move to the standing section next season, I have a great view from my current seat but I'll give it up to have a sing and a laugh, but that's just me

Years gone bye they knew there place, but since CCTV is there to protect them some and I do say some because many are top drawer are complete wankers who obviously have been bullied in the past who think they can talk to fans like shit. But soon one of them is going to get mullered. We notice this in places like Nottingham Forest and Leeds.

You know me mate (unfortunately for you

) In my post I say some are over zealous, Not all and I'm sure these aren't the types you are referring to, however 'The stewards are getting close to a whacking' is an OTT, blanket statement. At Villa the stewarding IMO was shit and in the first time in many years I saw the red mist come down. But that was away. At CCFC they are doing as directed, and not too bad fella IMO only
