As an outsider, I absolutely loved visiting NP, watching county vs city, and when we played Merthyr there, and i have also been to LEGOLAND to see wales, and without a doubt, NP wins easily, compared to that soul-less concrete bowl.
But getting your identity back is far more important than the stadia IMO

As stated at the beginning of the opening post, it was for a bit of fun. Not to be forensically hashed over. Simple question.
Ninian and Red or Cardiff City Stadium and blue. CCS and Blue for me.

Same here & I was giving my reasons why. I don't get this hate of the CCS myself that many have. It's a great stadium.

Legoland? Grow up
You mean the biggest club stadium in welsh football, which will soon boast 35,000 and next season hosts the European super cup.
Pity nobody at cewnty lifted a finger in 87 to stop you going bust. You lost your identity then. Nowadays you follow a new club,so before you try and lecture on here never forget that

Well said! County went bust owing around £250 k,unbelievable that the people/businessmen of the town couldn't raise that figure to save the club. They can't lecture us on fack all! Plus they had their biggest game in their history last May at Wembley, but took a meagre 5000. Shocking support!

Also remember them only taking around 500 to Ninian Park for their last ever league game against us on Easter Monday 88. To be fair County were in a shocking state and had to field mainly youngsters, but 500 for a game 12 miles away is shocking!
I actually don't mind County, but it really bugs me when their fans go on about this massive rivalry we have. Probably the most one sided rivalry in the country.

You obviously don't like the county ray, and your estimations on our support at Wembley are a little out, but we've gone from 5000 to now 5500 in just one post, so you're heading in the right direction, there was at least 7500 county fans there last may, which is still shite IMHO, when we took 13000 for the fa trophy final against York the year earlier!
The reasons for this is that we didn't even know, we would be in the final, a week before the game, when we beat Grimsby at RP on the previous sunday!
Tickets for the play-off final, were only available to county fans by a ticketing agency based somewhere in London, and the cheapest prices(can't really remember now) were £38. add on the postage which was some thing ridiculous like £6.50, plus travel, and it ends out to be a very costly day if you've got a family with you. I'm led to believe that they even charged you, to pick up your tickets in person at Wembley stadium ffs
As you work out I wasn't there as I was in a bar in paphos with a ccfc fan who i'd met at the hotel, and we had a great day out, a top bloke, and he was happy as me to see county back in the FL after 25 years. Just thinking why you don't like little old Newport? You might have had a kicking on Cromwell road back in the 80's is my guess![]()
Above you stated, that county went bust with debts of £250k, and once again you're wrong with your figures. as it was considerably LESS.
As for the businessmen around Newport who didn't jump in and bail us out, there were quite a few who were prepared to, but a certain Canadian businessman aka jerry Sherman, assured the directors of NCFC, that he was the saviour, and had the money to save us before deadline day, so the others were told thanks but no thanks. It turned out that JS was nothing more than a walter mittey type, and didn't have two pennies to rub together(I bought the c**t a few pints for him in the hall of fame pub)so on deadline, he didn't have the cash and the rest is history. The last thing I heard about him was that he was living in a penitentiary in the US for fraudHope that clears a few of your errors up, and if lakey is reading this, the year was 1989

Again ray, i'll take your estimations of the county support at NP in 1988, with a pinch of salt, as you don't seem very good with numbers![]()
In 2008, we played you at NP in the semi-final of the FAW premier cup, and even though we were a league 6 side we brought in excess of 1000 fans on the night when we beat you on penalties. You'll find clips on u-tube, with us fighting with the OB on sloper road, trying to get at city fans.
I can't find any info of the attendance on the night, but i'm sure you'll find that there was no more than 2000 city fans there so for a game at home THAT was shocking! As for us being rivals, we certaintly were in the 80's, as AA would agree, and I would cetaintly take his opinion on the subject a lot more seriously than yours.

I was actually at the game and there were 2k there in total. Woopydoo you brought 1k to your biggest game in years in what was in effect a reserve game for us. Weren't many Cardiff lads out that day, as we dont consider you rivals. The OB gave you a right kicking by all accounts and was a massive eye opener for you as our OB are more clued up than what you get at places like Forest Green. You thought you can come here causing all sorts of bother, but you all had a rude awakening.
