CAN WE ATTRACT QUALITY PLAYERS

Tue Nov 12, 2013 12:17 pm

We are probably the most mocked and talked about club in the Premiership in regards to Tan's controlling ways, Malky's number 2 sacked for no reason, club ID gone, players bonus's, Tan interfering with match day tactics, blah, blah, blah. So the question I ask is does all this effect us attracting quality players with everything that has gone on since the last transfer window, I fear it would and that Malky will struggle bringing in targets.........?

In Malky I trust :notworthy:

I prefer to believe someone like City Gent who has some real inside knowledge and not rely on the garbage you just posted. He says that relationships are being repaired and theres not the uproar that some would have us believe.

Actually your headline question was good but I know better than to engage with someone that posts that kind of drivel.

What garbage........? Im merely asking a question and stating what has been common news, I have no agenda whatsoever. Just asking if you think we can attract quality players.

Well then my answer would be yes, better than the start of the season anyway as we are now more of a known quantity and more likely to stay up than some. Also, again I think that beside the wealth of football knowledge that some people seem to have on here Malky's reputation will have a positive effect. Our manager is held in the highest regard by people who actually know what they are talking about so I think any on-going recruitment will only strengthen the club.

What garbage........? Are you saying that none of the mentioned in my post had happened and it was all made up. Im merely asking a question and stating what has been common news, I have no agenda whatsoever. Just asking if you think we can attract quality players.

Sorry I don't agree that its all about money as 'most' of these players also want to win things.

So all these potential Premiership players are looking to sign for a trophy winning potential club, twenty Prem teams and up for grabs, The Fa cup, the Mickey mouse cup and the Premier League winners, lot's of them going to be disappointed then.

Look, players are in it for a short time, they want to make as much as they can, so it lasts them forever, obviously they would love to sign for a top top club, even players on Torquay's books will dream of such a thing happening.
But at the end of the day, cup's don't pay bill's or buy exotic islands.

Why do you think these clubs with money such as the odd one or two Russian or Turkish clubs attract star players, it's all about the Wonga.

I think all of football was laughing at us years ago, huge club my arse, sleeping giant, massive catchment area, yeh and three thousand crowds, we were only known for causing trouble, fans on self destruct mode, players clambering to sign for us NOTTTTTTTTT, Sponsors throwing money at us NOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT, advertiser wanting links with us NOTTTTTTTTTTT.

Let the fuckers laugh if they want to, I along with many haven't stopped smiling this season, loving it, dreamed and prayed for these times for so long, and living it to the full. :old:

If they want to win things then obviously its the top few clubs they are looking at and we wouldnt have a chance anyway.

But if we are in with a chance of getting someone I dont think they will be put off by the chairman or manager as long as they are getting paid and paid well.

What a load of tosh. Of course players care who the manager is. Some managers play a particular style which suits certain players. Some players look for a manager who can work with them and hone their skills and who will make them a better player by developing them. There will always be the journeymen who chase the cash but not all players are that cynical.

Malky has done well so far on who he has brought in, but it doesnt help that we are new to the Premiership or having a clown as an owner. If we stay up, it will be much easier next season to attract more

Just the type of player we don't want.

Just erect a massive statue of Mao then they'll wanna play for us.

Most of the decent players we will attract will fall into one of these categories:

(1) Championship players who want to move up.
(2) Fringe players in Premiership, La Liga, Serie A or Bundesliga.
(3) First team players from Scandinavian countries and Holland.

Plenty out there better than we have at the moment.
