And Britain is going to be the forefront in giving aid?
What? We have people dieing in this country, we have homeless people sleeping rough without shelter, we have people dieing of cancer because the local authoritys haven't the money to fund the drugs that Cancer suffers need and prolong their lifes. I have today been told I have Cancer (triple wammy) and been told the most dreadful news that they don't think they can afford the drugs to prolong my life but still the government can tun around and say, yes, we'll donate f*cking millions.
I'm angry, so f*cking angry that I would happily.........

Sorry for you own personal health situation BHA.
I cannot begin to imagine how you and your family are dealing with the news.
Tue Nov 12, 2013 3:15 am
Sorry about your news, pal.
Tue Nov 12, 2013 5:57 am
Sorry about your news but the deadliest storm recorded hit them 10,000 dead, we should give them as much help as possible, if something of that magnitude hit Britain you'd expect us to handle it on our own?
Tue Nov 12, 2013 6:23 am
i dont think BHA is begrudging help abroad in a disaster, but what he feels is we need to make sure our own are cared for properly first...and in his case, this is most definitely not being done,i hope you can get the help you deserve

Best of luck to you sir.

Sorry to piss on your chips mate but what we get back in terms of trade and contracts far outweighs what we give in aid.

Whilst I also agree with your comment is 'some' of these examples but surely if thats the case then they should rebrand it as a 'Trade Fund' rather than 'Foreign Aid Fund' then the public can then see if a transfer of funds to a country is really benefitical or not and let the 'Foreign Aid Fund' just be for examples like the Philippines.

Anyone not supporting aid for such a horrible catastrophy has no heart at all.
10,000 died, over 6 million homeless.....I guess those numbers are just statistics to certain people!
In fact, this goverment only sent £6m in aid. Simply embarassing considering the circumstances. Thatcher's funeral cost more money!

Well naming it such would just be political spin but I'm quite proud of the fact that when it comes to foreign/disaster aid this country has always punched above its weight.

Complaining about aid given to a disaster torn country
Telling a bunch of strangers you've been diagnosed with cancer
*Probably the maddest post I've ever read on the Internet

It was quoted earlier on that the Government will be donating £10 million and compared to the American Government who are donating £12 million then I would say that good going if you compare the two in terms of finance.
Tue Nov 12, 2013 9:44 pm
It's been revised down to 2500 now.

Agreed!
And giving pakistan aid to "build schools", so what did Pakistan do? Announce they're gonna build new nuclear powered submarines.

Thanks to all the replys. Government have today announced they are given another £30 million pounds in aid on top of the £20m. I don't ask for much nor does any other cancer suffer, all we tax payers ask for is help, our own money, I have paid my taxes and NI all my life but I'm being ignored to fund countrys who wouldn't blink a eyelid if the same happened in our country.
Any politician ever knocks on my door will be knocked out and a cricket bat smashed across his/her forehead repeatably until they are dead. I mean that as well, what they going to do? Lock me up for life, I'll murder inmates as well.
I have paid into the system and now I'm scum, a British citizen who f*cking moan. Have spent the last few days in hospital having parts of my arse cut out and now they think I have lung cancer.
Dave say we made a pledge as a country? Did we, did he ask us tax payers? No, We are irreverent as we are scum.
