Don Cowie

Mon Nov 11, 2013 7:53 pm

People seem to be forgetting how well cowie has actually played in some games this season, for example against the jacks. Yeah I agree he shouldn't of played against villa we should of gone for it but he didn't play as bad a Gunnar! But when cowie has played against top teams he puts in a good performance so people get of his back

Cowie will always be a scapegoat to some on here, no matter how well he plays, unfortunately

Too true.

Cowie is Championship standard at best.

Can you name one telling contribution he's made to this season so far? Runs around a lot - big deal.

Don Cowie is not being criticised to be made a scapegoat. He's being criticised because he is so obviously out of his depth at Premier League level.

And he's not the only one out of his depth either.

One telling contribution? Setting up whittingham's goal with a good cross at hull. He also set up Campbell's second versus man city with the corner he took. :laughing6:

He is better than Gunnarson wherever he plays.

Malky loves a trier, but two is too many. I wish Malky would just play players in theirnatural position.

Cowie is a box to box central midfielder, probably good enough for us this season
Gunnarson is a box to box central midfielder, very good championship player
Whitts is a central playmaker - good enough for us for a few years
Bellers is a forward- not a wide midfielder
Peter o- is a striker and looks terrible as a right sided midfielder
Campbell - Is a striker who needs a bit of company
Kimbo- Is an attacking midfielder, but probably not in the English top flight
Noone is a winger- but probably defensively suspect for a struggling prem team

Tell me why did we get rid of the head of recruitment.

Cowie has been decent, no problem him being in the team.

The problem is when you put in another 4 defensive midfielder alongside him and isolate the striker so much it's mission impossible.
Cowie isn't the problem v Villa was, Malkys selection was the problem.
