Joe Mason follows other City Players and signs for a Championship side on loan.
Young Bluebird Joe Mason to gain game time with Wanderers
We can confirm that City striker Joe Mason has finalised an emergency loan switch to Bolton Wanderers. He will remain with the Trotters until January 5th, 2014.
Twenty-two year-old Joe will have the opportunity of playing in as many as nine SkyBet Championship fixtures, prior to returning to the Welsh Capital in the New Year.
Joe will link up with fellow loanee Bluebirds Kevin McNaughton at the Reebok Stadium, the Scottish defender having feature in six Bolton games to date - a time during which the Lancashire side has remained unbeaten.
The pair join Craig Conway (Brighton), Simon Lappin (Sheffield United), Joe Ralls (Yeovil Town), Kadeem Harris & Ben Nugent (Brentford) and Deji Oshilaja (Newport County), currently experiencing loan time away from Cardiff City Stadium.
Would be a good move IMO, he needs games.
Cardiff City forward Joe Mason in talks with Bolton over loan move

Cardiff City forward Joe Mason is in talks with Bolton Wanderers over a loan deal.
The 22-year-old has travelled to the Reebok Stadium for talks over what is expected to be an initial month-long deal.
It is understood there were 10 clubs interested in signing the former Plymouth Argyle striker, but Mason, who has yet to appear for Cardiff City since they won promotion to the Premier League, appears to have picked Bolton.
Mason signed for Cardiff for £250,000 in July 2011, and has scored 15 goals for the club, including the opener against Liverpool in the 2012 Carling Cup final.

I suspect that he's chosen Bolton as McNaughton is there atm as well!

Wouldnt surpise me if Malky likes to do it that way.
Harris and Nugent both at Brentford together

Hopefully this gives a clearer indication that Cornelius must now be fit and ready?
Malky was reluctant to loan Mason previously, so he must be confident we now have extra options available.

Good point, but in Mason's case at least, I suspect that another factor in him going to Bolton, is because they're playing at a better level than Brentford!

Wasn't long ago when people on here were saying that £4 million for Mason was far too little!!!

If he gets a shed load of goals in the champ he could easily get that come Jan.

Good for the lad, cracking player just needs games. Shame he didn't play more last season. I think he had the best strike rate out of all our strikers as well.
Will definitely be playing in the Prem in a few years

why loan someone without trying them baffles me, we are crying out for a goal so we ship out a striker, think he would do a better job than Nicky.

Totally agree, I think Mason is a perfect premier league striker. I think he should get a game or two and see how he does.
I believe his game is suited to the prem

Shame Mason didn't get a chance in the Prem.

This is a mistake!!! Such an intelligent footballer and a cool, cool finisher. Never got a chance, obviously not going to now and will probably be shipped out in January or next summer without kicking a ball for us in the Prem. In a couple of years we'll all be asking why we ever let him leave. Classy footballer. Huge shame. Also, are we really a team that can afford LESS options in attack?!?! Maybe he was shooting in training and Malky thought "better ship him out sharpish".

Happy if this gets the green light, much better for us & Joe if he gets some games and hopefully some goals.
I think he's definitely good enough to be playing regularly in the Championship which he needs to do if he's going to prove he's good enough for the Prem, hopefully with us?

good player but the boy cannot sprint.

Championship outfit Bolton Wanderers have signed Cardiff City striker Joe Mason on loan until January.
The 22-year-old, who has scored 18 goals in 70 appearances for the Bluebirds, joins his teammate Kevin McNaughton in temporarily swapping Wales for the Reebok Stadium.
Mason will compete for a starting position in Dougie Freeman's XI with David N'Gog, Jermaine Beckford and Robert Hall, who have scored six league goals between them this campaign.
Bolton will have the former Plymouth Argyle forward at their disposal for nine Championship fixtures, and will be hoping that he can continue to help them recover from a slow start to the season.
Freeman's side are unbeaten in their last seven games, a run which has taken them to 17th in the table.

To be honest besides Medel and Caulker the rest will probably stay, so that's a positive I guess.

Good luck Joe. Great player.
