A forum for all things Cardiff City

This is the one big advantage that Cardiff have over many of their rivals in the bottom half of the table. While the top teams are capable of spending big money in January I don't think to many of the others have the financial muscle.I think Cardiff are going to go for it big time to strengthen our chances of staying in this league. This is a big advantage for us,but we must get it right. We need pace out wide, creativity through the middle, and "GOALS"
C'mon malky get them in and make January count-it's vital.

I don't want to piss on your fire but:
1. Getting the quality of player we need like a speedy winger is not easy in January.
2. We will most likely be near the relegation zone come the window therefore making it very difficult to sign quality.
I just feel a few are putting too much faith in January.

Malky will probably buy anothet right back

A couple of foreign loans will be the best idea as prices of players will be inflated in jan and if we go down we will be stuck with the overpriced players

We always have hope for January...
We are always normally disappointed in Febuary...
Malky has said it on many times he hates the January window..
As for the "Spend Big" have we learned nothing?

NO HE COULDNT.............do you really think its as simple as this?..........MM wouldnt give him his freedom.........
the players we have are far more creative than they are being allowed to be..............do you really think MM is going to sign players and allow them to express themselves, while the players we have now have to be restrained?

Why would we have ever needed to "spend big" in the Championship?
Last Jan we brought in Fraizer who made a hell of an impact.

Agreed ,we need to spend in jan, we need fast wide boys out there to supply the big Dane ,people are forgetting he was intended to be our main goal getter ,and has'nt played yet.i know we're all football managers on here but I think Malkys aware of our shortcomings ,and we do have cash !!! Not all doom and gloom

Yep, simple fact is Malky wouldn't have spent such a huge amount of money on a striker to sit on the bench and act as an impact player. He had money to spend but he couldn't spend £8m of that on anything other than a first XI player.
He would have been the 1st choice striker; whether he's up to that is to be proven but that would certainly have been the plan. As a result of the injury Malky has had to cut his cloth accordingly which has meant virtually no game time for Noone who may well have had more time as he may have the ability to get around the back of defences and provide some service for a target man.
I think the key is to try and give Cornelius some game time before January so that Malky can at least assess whether he is going be able to provide the outlet he anticipated. If the injury/form precludes that then I would suggest there is a greater chance that Malky will need to go out and buy/loan a proven striker.

January is always a terrible month for us when it comes to signing players plus I dont think tan is going to be ready to let malky go mad, potentially we could get two potential good players or young players. or 1 established quality player & maybe a loan or a swoop from the championship

That was my favourite a year or so ago, people going mad, like crazy mad we didnt spend in Janaury then moaning about the debt literally a few seconds later.

Its got to be a done with caution IF we do get some money to spend in Jan. If spent wisely we could stay up and all will be fine but then again it could be a disaster if we spend and the worse happens and we go down! We wiould be in the s***t as the wage bill will be high!
Obviously there is the parachute payments attached to going down but its still a huge burden if it did happen.
Myself I think we will maybe get a couple on loan, hopefully wingers with a bit of pace to create something going forward and maybe another 'creative' forward/midfielder.

C'mon, own up.Who are you really.I mean your overuse of fullstops is like someone else and your anti-Malky bilge is like someone else too but I can't quite put my finger on it.

I don't think anyone has said we want tan to splash the cash, just think he will do to strenghthen his business interest.I don't care if we don't spend anything, just happy to watch city regardless. If he thinks there's a chance of us going down then he will act swiftly,us back in the championship will be a disaster for his investment.
