There seems to be an increasing number of posts about the style of football that the team play.
I have read that the style of play is 'lacking in ambition' etc.
What I just cannot understand is why people are posting this NOW.
This style of football was good enough for most people over the last two seasons and certainly good enough for those people who were delighted to see the team promoted last year.
So why start to criticise it now? Surely not because the team are actually losing some games.....?
This is the way that Malky likes to set up his teams to play and is nothing new this year; people seem to have very short memories.
The strange thing is, I actually don't mind the team playing this way this season (I'd prefer a bit more Barcelona-type football!) as it makes some tactical sense playing against teams at this level. Or I have just become used to it! And in fact I have been encouraged by our start to the season and don't agree with the doom mongers on here.
But it was certainly boring to watch last year as well, so don't complain now when it has been good enough for you in the past.
The difference is, playing this sort of cagey, workmanlike, attritional football was good enough to beat Birmingham away last year (so dull....) but not Aston Villa away this season
