Are we too negative or just not good enough

I'm enjoying being in the Premier League and this season is always going to be difficult. However today is another game with single figure efforts on goal. We had and average of less than one strike at goal every ten minutes and one strike on target every 47 minutes.

Are we happy with that? I'm not and I believe that we could have been set up more attack minded and had more strikes at the target. Lets face it... with just 2 strikes on goal today we were never going to win... and that was against a poor(ish) Villa side.

This is not an attack on Malky or the players. However we just need someone to prepare us for the next games with a little more flare. Do we have the players to carry that our... I don't know! So maybe, just maybe, we're not good enough.

We just don't have enough attacking threat, whereas defensively we are sound , we need a goal or two a game to take pressure off the defenders. Wingers are a must

Exactly so a change in approach is needed. Play with width (Whitts (or Bellars) and Odemwingie) no need for pace as such but just width. We need outlets and bodies in the box. Whitts will score all day at the back post and he has a sheer knack of arriving at the right time. Let's change this 10 man defense mentality and give the opposition something to think about. We can't win unless we score and that's 2 goals from the last 4 games with 6 conceded and 4 from 12 points gained. It's relegation form and a change is needed.

its just malkys style of football he gets us to play, ive said it before besides the first half of the season that he became our manager he has adopted this style of defensive play and stuck with it because it did give us results BUT how many games did we win or draw last season where we got battered but managed to hold on or get a late goal? quite a few games but because we won the league by quite a bit in the end the performances got ignored, new league and this style will not work every game but malky is stubbourn and didn't like to change so aslong as he is the manager we got to get used to the style and just hope we get as many corners as we can

We have quality but it is only in defense. I can't think of a game apart from Fulham where we've given it a go. We need Noone in the team and Kim or Mutch behind our striker which will hopefully be Cornelius soon.

the truth is we struggle away from home and we even had this problem last season. we grinded wins and run our luck and that give us a false sense of security as fANS

I think it's near impossible to tell if we are good enough because we are so defensive. IMO we can't tell if the likes of campbell or Kim or Mutch are good enough when it's back against the walls.
