Our lack of cutting edge up front is worrying, we look pretty solid defensively, but we can't expect to have a clean sheet each game and nick a goal. The strikers need to take some pressure of the defence with a goal or two each game

Nobody needs to be made a scapegoat.
But can you please let me know of one telling contribution made by Don Cowie today? I cannot recall one pass, one tackle, one header or one run that had any influence on the game. He is the definition of the invisible man.
And he's not alone. What on earth possesses Malky to start Gunnarsson ahead of Mutch? Gunnar just does not look Premier League quality and his first touch is absolutely shocking. Mutch did twice as much as Gunnar did in the short time he was on.
In fairness to Malky he has dropped both Cowie and Gunnar in the past but you can't help feeling that he can't wait to get them back into the starting line-up as soon as he can.

I can remember Cowie heading the ball once today. I think he offers nothing as an attacking player and always just pretends to try and defend. That's what worries me - his tackling, passing and headers are so rare I can actually remember one because it stuck out like a sore thumb!
