Swansea's world wide exposure

Fri Nov 08, 2013 7:33 pm

Didn't get to the game on Sunday due to the birth of my daughter (family first and all that!) so Ive only just watched the derby for the first time.

I dont know if its been mentioned on here before but during Sky's build up they did the usual cliche's like male voice choir, green mountains & valleys then the tale of 2 cities etc before cutting to the graphics CARDIFF over an areal view of the city - Mil-stad, the castle, river Taff, Altuoso building etc...

.. then the graphics SWANSEA over an areal view over what is clearly Newport  complete with the Transporter bridge, river Usk & Rodney parade! :laughing5:
you couldnt make it up... all we heard in the lead up was how important it was for the world wide exposure of the 2 cities & wales as it was being seen in over 250 countries across the globe and the potential impact on business & tourism .. yet the only images of Swansea the massed global audience had beamed into their living room was.... well Newport!!!

When it comes to the mian street of each city they probably found it difficult to tell the difference.

Pound shops, tramps and a smell of p1ss. ;)

Yep if it wasnt for the fact they were both from the same country they would definitely be twinned!

Most of europe think swansea is a small part of cardiff. Cardiff vs swansea being a derby hasn't helped their course. Most people around europe know cardiff is a city in the U.K but automatically think swansea is a club in cardiff due to the fact swansea play in the south wales derby Lol true story bro
