Who will buy us?

Fri Nov 08, 2013 2:23 pm

Tan will want all his money back so who will buy us? I think some fans are confusing trying to get back to blue with getting him out?
What will happen if the buyers have no interest in what the fans want? What if they don't want to go back to blue?
Lots of ifs i know but my opinion is fans wanting Tan out should be careful what they wish for.
I think fans should keep trying to get Tan to listen about changing back to blue instead of trying to get him out.
The seats are still blue so i believe there's still a chance as i think the day they turn to red is the nail in the coffin for blue :(
We all know Tan is stubborn and doesn't like being told what to do so by protesting for him to get out etc could make him push the red even more? Would he change to red seats out of spite?
I'm all for the fans wanting the blue back through protests and fighting for our identity but the insults and Tan out could go against us..

There are a few multi millionaires who've come out of Cardiff.

Ever considered that they might be waiting for the bubble to burst before swooping in and buying us for a pittance leaving more money to be invested elsewhere to help rebuild? Its no different to what happened at Chelsea. In 1982 Bates bought Chelsea for £1.

Why buy for an extortionate fee from Tan who will want a profit on his returns when you can wait for Tan to mess up, let the bubble burst and buy the club in administration for next to nothing? The new owner not only saves the club from the brink of being dissolved but also can change the kit colour back to blue and become a fans favourite. The league we're in won't matter straight away as the diehard City fans will align with the new owner just for that change and a few clever statements and words and they will be in love with him.

Buying failing companies or collapsed companies and then turning them around or using their name/brand to rebuild is common in the business world and most of the dragons do it on Dragons Den. Theo is well renown for doing it and its a great way, especially when a business already has a name out there well known of doing things to make money.

We don't need someone with Tan's money. What we need is a clever owner like Kenwright at Everton, not the richest of blokes, who cares and can cleverly pull the strings and keep things ticking over.

I agree with you Jinks, lots want Tan out but I don't think they got a clue who is out there to splash the cash and buy Tan out, and if we don't stay in the prem it will be even harder to find a buyer

Bu have turned into a tan out movement and seem to have forgotten why they were formed.
A big mistake Imo because most fans want tan to remain.
There doesn't appear to be any buyers on the horizon so gentle persuasion and education as Bu put it is the way forward not protesting and tan out banners.

Add to the fact our debt is owed to Tan himself then the chances of us going into administartion are zero to 0.000000001%

No chance of admin..
I think we would only sell to a consortium probably chinese or russian with Tan possibly being a part of it. I don't believe for one minute that there would be multi millionaires from cardiff , Wales or the UK for that matter who would risk buying us anyway..

Correct. Premier League is a foreign billionaires playground now.

I want the blue back and it seems now the media have got their claws into him it can only end in tears but as youve already said, be careful what you wish for.

A middle east family took over Malaga (Not usre if they were royalty) ploughed in silly money, and then got bored after 18 months and pulled all the funding.

After Tan goes and were not in debt that maybe an option-when Kenright took over they had nothing like the debt we've got and they were already prem division thus ensuring a steady income.

James, the simple truth of the matter is that if they had wanted 'in' they would have had no better opportunity than when we REALLY needed them about 4 years ago; but no, they appeared content to see us go under had Tan (or TG) not come in to rescue the situation

The football world has moved on immensely since the days of Ken Bates and so has Cardiff City FC. There is no way that this club will be picked up 'on the cheap' by some local entrepeneur looking to make a fast buck and (whether we like it or not) Tan is here to 'see the job through' as anything else would be seen as 'failure' and surely people must realise by now that he simply doesn't do that ;) :ayatollah:

Re: Who will buy us?

I think Tans original plan was to buy all the shares in the club, then float us on the stock market and get his money back by the share price going up.That way he could get his money back plus keep the majority share in the club.hence the rebrand for the far east market.....it was not about shirt sales or fans as some seem to think. His bad publicity has blown that now and he will fall out of love with his toy after a couple of years......if we are still in the premier league there will be rich people who want to buy a play thing , but beware they will mostley be like Tan and the owner of Hull........thats the way it is going.Of course the next owner can make himself the most popular man in south wales if he ditches the badge and returns us back to blue.

We were doing that and were bouncing around the bottom two leagues. Everton and their 40k plus crowds is a lot different to our situation. We got in huge debt even getting to the championship and it was Tan that saved us. Where were the Cardiff people who could have got us cheap before. Nowhere. It was Sam who started the ball rolling.

Our club is now a very viable club, big stadium, big support and future owners now know we are potentially a massive club with 260,000 fans now on our database. Listen the quicker he goes the better, we can once again be a proud club and yes our fans have never always agreed, but never divided like we are nowadays.

There is always a buyer out there some where and that is a true, Ive seen us at deaths door on at least 5 occasions over the 40 odd years Ive supported City and sometimes with an hour to go and that was when we were not a viable club.

Spot on. We are a Premier League club. A buyer will be happy to buy us as the Sky TV money will appeal to them. Their motive may be money and I don't dispute that but I think thats the case with any buyer in this world now. However, I think to appease the fans for their true motives they'd also be willing to change us back to blue.
