CITY AND BOLTON DENY GESTEDE LOAN MOVE

Gestede’s contract runs out at the end of this season, but he has made only three Premier League appearances from the substitutes bench but he is not going on loan to Bolton

Rudy Gestede, Cardiff City’s 6ft 4ins centre-forward, is sticking with the Bluebirds.

Talk of a loan or full transfer to Championship club Bolton has been denied by both clubs.

Gestede’s contract runs out at the end of this season, but he has made three Premier League appearances from the substitutes bench and gives Cardiff a different option in attack when needed.

Bolton manager Dougie Freedman and Cardiff’s Malky Mackay have both denied rumours there has been talks on a possible Gestede move.

Fraizer Campbell and Peter Odemwingie have been the preferred attack leaders for Cardiff so far this season and competition for places will be increased when Danish centre-forward Andreas Cornelius is available to play.

He has been out for two months with an ankle injury, but is now back in full training and will be available soon after the international break which starts after Cardiff’s trip to Aston Villa tomorrow.

Cornelius will almost certainly play for Cardiff’s Under-21 development team before he is considered for Premier League action.

Gestede, 25, has scored nine goals in 63 first team appearances after signing in the summer of 2011.

Cardiff right-back Kevin McNaughton is already on loan with Bolton and has played a key role in their climb away from the Championship relegation zone.

Bolton are unbeaten in the five matches McNaughton has played and his loan spell has been extended by two months until the end of December.

Seems a modern fan thing. back in the day we always got behind our players whether they were crap or not

doubt he'll go anywhere until january tbh when we know where we stand with cornelius. he'll do alright in the champ with a good run of games.
