' There can only be one winner in the battle between Cardiff City’s Malky Mackay and Vincent Tan '
By Benjamin James Wednesday 6 Nov 2013
Malky Mackay is working under strained conditions at Cardiff City. But he holds the key to Tan keeping the fans on side
The dream team of Vincent Tan and Malky Mackay have spent the days after Cardiff City’s monumental derby day victory taking to the local press and praising each other to the hilt.
Vincent Tan has said that Malky is the only manager he will ever need at City. Malky, for his part, has said that Vincent Tan is the owner everyone dreams of.
In an ideal world, this would have been the situation this week.
Instead, the strained relationship between Malky and Tan has reached a new level. In the immediate aftermath of the game, Malky’s disdain for Vincent Tan was made clear in his post match interview and Tan’s interview was telling. He will reveal all when he wants to.
As much as the uncertainty is horrible, the tide has turned against Tan. A small protest took place after the Swansea game which garnered national attention; more telling is that this news has reached Tan’s native Malaysia, where he hides out between games.
This will not go down well with Tan. Indeed, the small protest is just the start of the turning tide.

The reasons for Tan and Malky’s strained relationship aren’t clear.
Will they become clear? Probably not. Will Malky leave? Not likely.
Rumours are that if he leaves of his own accord, his contract is structured in such a way that he would owe the club cash.
It’s quite the turn of events. Malky is a hero in Cardiff. Tan is the villain. And it could have all been so very different.
Whilst many fans have already walked away over the rebrand fiasco, those who stayed have now been galvanised.
We go away to Aston Villa on Saturday with protest chants written. Looking ahead to other games in November, further protests are planned.
Everyone has a tipping point. For most, it has now been reached.
Tan or Malky must go. With one, go the fans. With the other? The football club.

To think tan could have been a hero. People would be dressing up like him and singing his name, but no he just does what he wants and doesn't care about the '5%'

native Malaysia where he hides out between games - you mean his home, where he has most of his business interests, that sort of hideout??

Believe me Lindy you could not be further from the truth with this made up nonsense.

It does appear he runs away when things become a little heated home or somewhere else is irrelevant .

Makes a lot of sense to me to be honest.

Grumpy,
You can make nonsense sound sensible to any body who wants to believe it, and this site contains a lot of people who live on the edge of criticism, whether true or not.

I believe you,a complete crock of shit I would call it.I think Tan has dropped a bollock or two but the anti-Tan brigade are really scraping the barrel if they believe this to be 100% fact.

Strange how you dismiss any critisism of Tan. I thought that the gratitude you had for your free red scarf would have worn off by now.

You should read my post again.I inferred that Tan is not beyond criticism(spelt correctly),just that the piece of journalism is a complete crock of shit.
Oh and is that the best insult you got-you thick as shit muppet.

A typical reply from someone who was educated in sneggy. I guess the gratitude for the free red scarf has not worn off then.

Guy's this is a well laid out post, and like any other post it is open to criticism, so lets not sink into gutter arguments, either side does their case no good at all, in fact it will stop people replying or reading the post or your eplies.
all I said was that it was made up nonsense, not insulting not personnal, just some honest critcism.

Thats your opinion and its your right to post that. I do not agree however that it is all made up nonsense as some of it has elements of the truth in it that should not be dismissed by a blanket denial of the facts.

Back to the original post. There are elements of the story that are true. The press may have exaggerated the situation somewhat but it is wrong to dismiss it in its entirity.

I agree with that but it was written, it seems, by someone that has a personal axe to grind and to an outsider it paints a picture thats far from the truth. That why I think its a piss poor piece of journalism and should not be taken at face value. If you want my personal opinion then it is that the situation is bad enough without the addition of crap journalism and would rather see the situation repaired than some kind of confrontational ending which would result in CCFC being hurt so there would be no victory for either side of the current argument.
Thu Nov 07, 2013 2:00 pm
Who said it was journalism, there is no media source to say where it came from, just a name and date, to me it is just a well laid out opinion, which I think bares no truth to reality, the Title it self "Malkky Mackay and Vincent Tan set for war at Cardiff" is wrong for a start.Malky now deals with the chairman, and the chairman deals with Tan, the same as my company and any other well run company.

I see where you are coming from but I think that the damage has been done and CCFC have already been hurt by the actions of Tan.

Hurt in what way and how, as far as i'm concerened we are a bigger club now than we have ever been, if we want to be bigger, then we will have to take on the chin and get over it.

Hurt in that we are a complete laughing stock with a clown at the helm who is such a control freak that he tries to interfere with the managers role which has been strongly condemned in the football world by media and figures in the game.
Hurt in that Tan has pissed Malky off and there is a possibility that we could lose one of the best managers we have ever had.
Hurt in that TAN has managed to split our fan base but I am now beginning to see signs that Tans attitude is driving fans back towards the blue cause in droves.
I could go on but surely thats enough even for you? The best part is that you already know that these issues exsist so it begs the question why ask?
