Speculation over Chris Coleman's future as Wales manager intensified after a press conference to announce his team to face Finland was cancelled.
Coleman, who is one of the favourites to replace Ian Holloway as Crystal Palace boss, was scheduled to unveil his squad for the friendly to the media on Friday.
But the Football Association of Wales have decided they did not want the press conference to be overshadowed by questions over Coleman's future and his continuing links with his former club.
"We have discussed it with Chris and we have decided to release the squad by email because it would be a worthless exercise holding a press conference when all the questions will be about Chris' contract and Crystal Palace," an FAW spokesman said.
"We are not hiding anything. Chris will be in Cardiff on Friday."

Coleman admitted last month a final decision over whether he would continue in the role is unlikely to be taken until after the clash with the Finns.

The uncertainty over Chris Coleman's future as Wales manager continues to grow after a press conference where he was due to announce his squad for the friendly with Finland was cancelled.
Coleman was set to face the media on Friday to reveal his selection ahead of a game which could well prove to be his last in charge of his country - and his role was certain to be among the topics.
A Football Association of Wales spokesman said the decision not to hold a press conference was taken on the grounds that the squad announcement would be completely overshadowed by questions about Coleman's future and continuing links with Crystal Palace.

I see managing wales as probably a part time job for an older manager who's been around the block a few times.Colemans a young man who should be managing a club who play every week,he must be bored shitless.I can't see him staying with wales,he's more likely to go to palace or some other club.

He did say after the Croatia game in March that he wasn't looking forward to doing nothing until August when we would playing Ireland. Being an international must be very a boring existence at times. After all, you can only attend so many games.
