Are the Jacks on the decline now ?????

Sun Nov 03, 2013 10:41 pm

I would say yes, it's obvious how toplay them, Laudrup to leave end of season and it will continue ........

Interesting week for them long trip to Russia, and when they return, Stoke without Vorm and it looks like Michu's injured too....

I think Laudrup will get fed up and walk to be honest. He has form for doing so as well.

No, it was a derby. in derbies, either side can win it, we just wanted it more. I think the jacks will finish 11th and reach the semis of the Europa.

I think they will fade after Christmas as the travel, extra games and injury takes it's toll, but time will tell :ayatollah:

Nah they're not in decline for sure. The strain of Europa league is tough you have to add extra players to the squad and either rotate your team or play the same team, both can have a bad effect if you dont get it right and find some consistancy both on the pitch and with your selections naturally the results will slip in the league.

You only have to name a few teams who have played in europe and ended up worse off for it

Something is up with Michu I reckon and its not just an injury.

You can get 22/1 forthem to go down and something is telling me that they will be the 3rd team to go down together with Palace and Sunderland IMO

I can see Fulham making a change soon and their new owner making some signings in January

They really are not the team I thought they would be. Perhaps this Europa competition is going to be their undoing. This competition has a history of breaking the British team.

Also worth looking at the Jacks guiding lights as well like Michu. Last season he stepped in well but this season he is struggling abd the player who was meant to come in and help out has not done much. That being Daddy Cool Bony M.

I warned my dad (a Swansea fan) that they'd struggle with the Europa League this year. But then, after I said that, they made some quality signings and they seemed destined to avoid all the issues Newcastle had with the competition last year. The problem has come with Bony.

Laudrup knew they couldn't rely on Michu for every game - he'd burn out. He also knew that Swansea needed to be able to try something different if their passing game didn't work from time to time. So he went for Bony, and paid huge money for him (from a Swansea perspective). The problem was, he might have brought Bony in thinking an out-and-out striker would offer them something else when they need it, but he didn't really take onboard that his entire team is set up to play in a way that suits Michu, not Bony. And as such, it was money wasted, and now Michu is having to play far too much. Personally, I think Bony would have been a far better signing for us bluebirds than Swansea.

Worst part for them is that, without question, they are going to do well in Europe. They're just set up in a way that suits that competition. But, it's gonna hurt their league form and for all the money they've spent, I wouldn't be surprised to see them finish lower than last season. Anyone who thinks they are going to get relegated needs their heads checked though!

Great post I have said to mate for weeks we need a man up top like bony as we play football that compliments a proper striker'! I mean wins headers holds the ball up and brings people into play bony is very much thus player and scores goals, we lack this at the moment, I'm loving the victory today but we are lacking a lot going forward, again today we played 4-5-1 with no wingers and Taylor an theopile got so isolated on the wings we just went backwards and in fairness it was always a set piece that we'd win from as we very rarely got in behind their full backs due to lack of width and overlapping if wingers as we had none, I don't mean to put a downer on what was a wonderful day but the performance and tactics again sum up the fact we didn't bag any good wingers like the mentioned montero moths ago, he would have gave us tactical options which at the momwnt we don't have hence the consistent compact 4-5-1 with no width
