" THE JACKS HAD IT COMING "

Sun Nov 03, 2013 9:33 pm

All week I have listened to Jacks in work telling how they were going to put 3 goals on us, how confident they are going into the game, how right now is the perfect time to play us as we got so many off field problems.

To be honest I over done it with comments about the jacks in my Echo column, so much so that I had a phone call on Friday evening to say the column had to be 'toned down', which i understood but was still disappointed with.

I am sick and tired of hearing about this model football club who play this apparent brand of football that is to be applauded.

They are far from the model template of a football club, they have had their off field problems and because of those problems they caused financial problems for other small businesses.

Their brand of football has been shown up for what is again by Cardiff City, we done it the last time we played them and again today we showed if you get into them in the right areas of the pitch they have very little as an answer.

Today Malky Mackay got the tactics absolutely bang on against a team who like to play it around the back.

We knew on set pieces they were dodgy, we knew they had play actors like Chico, Bellamy had Rangel wound up from the first minute.

The first half weren't the best spectacle but that second half display was growing in confidence as each minute passed.

From Ben Turners perfectly timed dumping of Shelvey to Medel dictating the play and orchestrating the pace from deep in the middle.

I thought Odemwingie held everything up top today and offered more than previous lone strikers we have used.

Marshall again showed why he will probably win player of the year and possibly even goalkeeper of the year in this league, he has been top drawer in virtually every game this season.

Theophile-Catherine was excellent throughout and is exactly the type of full back Malky's system requires.

Bellamy talked Rangel out the game from the first minute, the biggest surprise was that Laudrup never took the fool off.

Overall a thoroughly deserved victory for the team, the manager, the fans and the Capital City.

KTC was absolute class today. Very few are worthy, but he is worthy of taking over from super Kev McNaughton in my book :ayatollah:

No doubt. The gap from 17th to 12th, overtaking Swansea in the meantime will give the players such a morale boost. Regardless if it's still early on in the season, being where we are is still very encouraging. Hopefully we can try and stay where we are by January.

I agree with all these observations about the game today Carl. Bellers had Rangel psyched out, it was funny to watch.

I haven't worried about any of the off field antics because they really have made no difference to how the team plays at all.

And Malky will stay until one of the top 7 clubs come calling (and I don't mean Southampton).

Let's stop moaning and enjoy the ride!

There on merit and we have had a tougher start to most of those around, we will have a run of the weaker teams like Swansea coming here soon ...........

We have given a brillian account for ourselves against Man City Everton and were very unlucky against Spurs :ayatollah:

Leading up to the game Malky was 100% professional and you knew the off field nonsense wuldnt affect us yesterday,What a remarkable character he is
Our players gave 100% KTC was superb and man of the match in my opinion but every player deserved credit, odemwingie geeing up the fans ,bellamy reinvigorated, caulker and turner rock solid, medel magnificent

The jacks were poor and seemed to lack heart, shelvy played ok but the rest were very average

Hopefully Medel keeps it up now again as it kind of give KTC a bit of confidence and freedom to push forward which will benefit us to get more chances in future games. :D
