Saying Malky's tactics are too defeatist was wrong of me and I hold my hands up and I admit I was wrong to say that. Today, tactically he played a blinder and got it spot on. When Cornelius comes back he'll have hopefully, another outlet at his disposal of whom will help hold the ball up giving us another attacking avenue to go down and bring others into play.

As a boxing fan as well, some of you know, I am a fan of Floyd Mayweather. For me to say that Malky is too defensive yet praise Floyd for executing the exact same style albeit in a different sport is hypocritical if not a bit daft. Today we did exactly that. We soaked up the pressure of Swansea and we did break them mentally as Floyd does with his opponents.

We delivered the hammer blow and asserted dominance in the game and took charge as Floyd does later on in his fights. In the second half Swansea were broken mentally. They had no answer to Malky's tactics and we won almost every second ball, flick on and it looked a lot of the time as if we had more players on the pitch (I am aware of the fact we did when Michu went off) because of our players swarming and putting the pressure on them.

Yes the scoring in boxing and football is different but the deployment of a game plan and the mental effects it can have on participants in the sport can carry over. Swansea were frustrated today and couldn't unlock us. Balls were being wasted when they'd otherwise retain possession and keep things ticking over.

Swansea are like Oscar De La Hoya. Their style is elaborate, fancy and based on impressing the crowd. Floyd's style is boring, disciplined and effective. We know who won that bout and our style today mirrored that albeit in another sport. The simple fact is Swansea, like Oscar, have not got the blueprint to beat us. That is going to kill them inside knowing that their cousins down East had the blueprint to beat them.

Sorry, you are correct sir, I meant Taylor-Fletcher. He played a blinder in that final for the time he was on. Regardless, I still dislike Phillips.
