Olive branch from Tan.....

Sat Nov 02, 2013 10:55 pm

The City to play in blue tomorrow.

Dreamland I know but it would make the Jacks that are planning to wear blue look like fools in front of a world wide audience.

Tan is not gonna let the team play in blue when they can wear red - ever. He's trying to create a brand image, putting the team in blue makes absolutely no sense from his business point of view.

try and forget about the colour of the home kit for once and I know it is hard for some people and I truly do understand but lets just support the lads that represent us against our arch rivals, f**k the red its all about the player that's in the shirt that matters

Actually, it's a cultural thing. His differs to ours but he holds the purse strings and wins. It's not difficult to understand ;)

I didn't say it was for our brand image down here, did I? He's done it simply to make us more attractive to consumers back in his own country. Whatever the rights and wrongs of that are, backtracking on it for even just one game would be a massive step backwards for him.

Olive branch? Maybe if we were in League Two. As it stands, Tan knows that whilst we're in the top division(s), every supporter who turns their back just 'cos of the shirt colour will be immediately replaced by a new eager person who wants a season ticket to see top flight football. For as long as we are in the Premier League or even the Championship, Tan isn't ever going to need to extend an "olive branch", because every single person sat in the stadium is replaceable, as sad as it is.
