Tucker: "It was something that had been discussed in journalistic circles. Today Malky handled it really well at the press conference and kept the focus on the derby."

Blakey: "Maybe that explains why Velikonja hasn't played. But the problem is the player just isn't good enough to play. If he was, Malky would have seen that in training."

Tucker:" I think Tan is lucky his first home game since the Moody sacking is the derby. Had it been any other game, the focus might have been on him."

Tucker: "I would say Caulker has probably been the pick of Malky's summer signings. He's wearing the armband and he's anchoring the defence.
"Medel has been excellent as well but he's had some slightly wishy-washy performances in recent weeks.
"He's been massive and Sunday will be massive for him."

Blakey: "They have both been massive signings but Caulker could do with a lot of work continuously with his feet. Changing direction sometimes isn't quick enough for him - but that's attention to detail.
"Without them, we would be in a very tight spot."

Tucker: 'I got the impression Craig Bellamy has played a part in the preparation for this game.
'Andrew Taylor said this morning that Craig had been instilling into people how big this game is.
'It's a hometown guy who scored a magical winner in one and he knows more about it than most.
'We think he's going to start but it's hard to guess at the moment.'

Blakey: 'Whether Craig plays or not, we should get behind the team. They know what they're doing.'

Tucker: I don't think Cowie will be required Sunday. I think Malky will go for Medel, Gunnarsson, Whittingham and Kim.

Blakey: So, you're playing without a striker then?

Tucker: Hang on, let me have a think.

Blakey: I would have Medel, Whittingham and Mutch in the midfield. Medel and Whitts are great passers and Mutch can join in up top.

Tucker: Kim should play on Sunday. Blakey: No way he's a luxury.
