IF COLEMAN GOES ? (and I hope he does)

Thu Oct 31, 2013 12:43 pm

I hope Coleman goes to Palace or just goes anywhere really.

Never rated him as a player (not just the Jack thing) or a Manager. He has a very serious attitude problem in my opinion.

All my life as a football fan and Cardiff city supporter/fan and of course a Wales supporter/fan, watched Wales bounce from one campaign to another with a few outstanding players, few good players and a few OK players. Let's face it as a small nation we will never have the strength in depth that top countries have. But we still love our national team.

I truly thought we had the balance right with Gary Speed as Manager and we had a winning confidence and passing mentality about us. RIP Gary.

Like a fair few of you I have watched the FAW become a total laughing stock in world football, from the Barry town Affair to the old grey men in suits brigade.

In my humble opinion we (Wales), should look at the attributes of our past good managers and try and get a manager who had most of the attributes (ie) a strong leader, a good footballer, a good tactician, a cool but firm attitude towards players. (Coleman has none of these).

For me personally, I would go for a young and inexperienced manager (who would be cheap to keep the FAW happy!!), who has all the above attributes. Someone who would grow along with our new team of Welsh talent (and we do have excellent talent at the moment,it just needs nurturing) For me, looking outside Wales would be a good option.

I would put one name forward for us, who could turn out to be a gem.

He has Just retired from football because of injury at 32. Is 6ft 1" tall, Was in my opinion a top class player, speaks perfect English, A bit of a hard man midfielder, Still lives in UK (as far as I know), and has captained the German national team. Has a good attitude.

I must admit a liking of the way the German's play, their tactics and team work ethic.

FAW - Please do something radical, such as this, otherwise the Welsh Footballing public are going to get more and more disillusioned. We have great young talent but we need a radical rethink on going forward - TOGETHER.

Sorry lad's, just my opinion. :ayatollah: :old:

Has he even got the right qualifications? I'd rather we go for someone who has managed or coached before.
