What's the craic with him these days. Hoped palace would be the making of him. but he just makes sporadic appearances for the u21s every so often.

Was injured at the end of last year, and I do not think he made the squad this year, on the palace site he has not been given a number.

Last I heard Chris Coleman said he wasn't fit enough for the Palace reserves.

He has been training at Bolton

I thought it might be something non football related. Glad he's out of london and hopefully gets a move to bolton and back on the pitch

That would explain it. It all starts to make sense now!

Its easy to have a go at Darcy about his off field issues, but he is not the first and he wont be the last to struggle with these type of problems. He needs a firm manager and a club where he will get regular football. When he came back from plymouth a few years ago we seen what he is capable of and around that time he was playing well for wales as well.A local boy who played for the city, gave other local boys hope and I wish him all the best and hope he can get back to his best.

Agree. I was impressed with him when playing for Wales under Speedo and I hope that he gets back playing regular first team club football as soon as possible.

Hes got to earn first team football not just be given it. If he pisses his career up against the wall hes got no-one to blame but himself.

No offence, but he made it easy. How many chances does he need before he takes the hint?
At least 3 good managers have read him the Riot Act and he failed to respond in the right fashion on each occasion
Whether that was down to his own make up or peer pressures I am not sure, but I do know that he was (maybe still is?) a talented player who at his best was certainly worthy of a place in the Cardiff squad (great utility player for the bench) and showed that in his Wales games under Speedo
It's not a case of 'kick him whilst he's down' as I sincerely wish that things work out for him wherever he plays next, but Darcy could/should have been in a Premier League squad right now (with his home club

) and that he isn't is not down to his footballing ability

darcy just likes a drink and being from were he is I don't suppose there is much else to do there,
very talented young lad, who also loves the city, hopefully at Bolton with king kev he can get his act back,
that run he made when we last played the jacks at there place, if only that went in it , unbelievable

Shame, Was very versatile and impressive for Wales (Kept Rooney in his pocket all game) at Wembley.

There's not much to do but drink where he's from? It wasnt 3rd world, I don't know how those Brazilians manage it from the run down areas, if Blackwood sends you to drink. if you can't control diet and alcohol then you shouldn't be footballer on such wages. In he wants to piss it up the wall play for 50 quid a game an live unprofessional life.
He's a good player, an I hope he turns it round, but this has to be his last chance.

There is a lot more to this than just a footballer with some off field problems, but its not a thing that should be discussed on a message board.I just hope he makes it back on the field and back into the welsh team.He needs support not ridicule.

Spot on, I was hoping the Palace move would of sorted him as he would be further away from a few people he knew in Wales who he use to go out with.. clearly they weren't an influence but himself going out all the time.

Just going to throw this one out there so everybody knows why Darcy's career is in decline. It's because he's spending a lot of time on the physio table for a recurring injury of sorts. How do i know? My friend is treated by the same physio. How can you trust me? You can't, but at least it's better than constantly battering the fella when not everything is being documented correctly

Always had a bad attitude, could have been a solid championship defender if he bothered to be a professional.
Wed Oct 30, 2013 4:17 pm
He only got so much sympathy from our fan base cos he was a local lad.
Chopra got crucified by our fans for his problems, yet done far more in a City shirt than Darcy ever did.
Stinking case of double standards.
