Kimbo away

Why does Malky persist with this selection ?

I can't work out if Kim is that good or is he in a system that doesn't suit.

Are we waiting for the stroke of genius? But in the "10" role he strike rate is poor.

I know he is loved by a few but for a few clever flicks and shimmies what does he do especially in a team consistently on the back foot.

He'll come good in a few years, but right now he's just some fancy tricks and not much else. That role needs someone more effective, and Kim's shooting from distance is absolutely laughable.

I would put Bellers in the "10" role. Football brain, good touch, can score and will be allowed to drift to the flanks to cause overlaps

We don't play with a player in a number ten role .
We normally play 2 defensive midfielders with 3 sat in front forming a solid wall with a lone striker .

A number 10 plays off the main striker in the hole like Rooney does for man utd .

Kimbo is playing the playmaker role of a midfield 5 with 2 players next to him and in all honesty not doing a good job of it .

He needs to move further forward into the role he looked class in last season and not be forced to protect the midfield generals who are protecting the back 4 its pathetic .

Couldn't agree more that role is made for him :ayatollah:

The problem with Kimbo is he can play football unlike his team mates, to many water carriers in the team hard work will only get you so far in the prem.

Don Cowie used to get berated for being selected before fans preferences, but this selection has left me as much confused as I've ever been as a City fan?
A Derby game, tackles needed to be won, cool heads needed, total commitment essential?
Kim's your man! Do me a favour?

he doesnt hunt the ball, make challenges.............so he is not there for break up play
he doesnt score.................doesnt making driving or tricky runs pulling defenders out of position
doesnt play killer balls
takes neither corners or free kicks................

but looks nice on the ball if given to him in space, and gives the impresion there is more to come .
