Marshall was outstanding as we all know. But what if the goal stood, it quite clearly wasn't a minor point in the game.

Perhaps Marshall was a bit naive. Maybe he should just have played on like their players did when Taylor went down with a head injury.

I'm sure that if he'd just played on the ref would have blown his whistle probably as soon as he kicked it. If not then Norwich would have have had a taste of their own medicine.

Marshall pretty much single handedly won us a point, yet you choose to question him over the opposition cheating yet again!

The guy cheated, end of, I think what you are saying is that from now on, throw the rule book away, even if a player is injured or not carry on playing, may as well stop the shaking of hands as well and go out to war for every game, back to the 70/80s then,
Yes and it was a mans game then.

No, he could have stood where he wanted to as the ball should have been passed straight to him as what is expected in gentlemanly conduct in this country. Danny mills summed it up this morning when he was on goals on Sunday. He said when he played and a drop ball took place, he would joke to the ref that he was going to shoot, to which the reply he got from the ref was ' you score and you're getting booked for it'. I'm proud our league isn't like it is on the continent with play acting seen as a success if you get someone sent off and to win no matter the consequences. I've got no problem with late tackles if they are honest tackles going for the ball etc but holding your face as if you've been punched by rocky balboa has no place in football. It's embarrassing. Chris hughton told malky aswell that if the goal stood then he would have let cardiff walk it in from kickoff, think that's all that needs to be said. For anyone to question Marshall yet again for outright blatant rule breaking or gamesmanship needs their head examined.

we were lucky the Ref was sensible about the while situation.

As to be expected, I think there would have been a war if that had happened. I remember when kanu did it years ago at sheff united and Steve Bruce took his players off the pitch as a result. I don't think Marshall can even slightly be questioned at this same as last week. The man has been outstanding.

I havent seen it yet but been told about it, it sounds like he was a tad naive but I think it was to be expected that they gave the ball back. If it was a cardiff player who was injured I could understand them playing on and IMO marshall would have then taken up a better position.

However the fact it was a Norwich player down I think its more than reasonable to expect the ball back, I dont care what Fer says about Holland everyone knows.

Why stand in front of the goal? That's just challenging the opposition to shoot and blaming it on the keeper for poor handling. If that would have happened, then I guarantee the goal would've stood. Or even if Marshall went to save it and missed, it would have stood. In my opinion he did exactly the right thing. It was obvious what they were going to do and Marshall knew it too.

This.

Not wanting to sound like I'm having a go at him, as it would be pathetic to really, but a simple thing like standing where he should stand would of probably prevented the goal.

But from his point of view, after knocking the ball out when we were IN possesion he was obviously trusting the ball to come back to him, positioning himself to give it a big boot up the pitch..
