Cardiff City boss Malky Mackay has rebuffed Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho’s ‘time wasting’ accusations by taking a trip down memory lane.
Mourinho had slammed Cardiff for what he perceived to be their deliberate delaying of play, saying it was disrespectful, and that they were cheating the paying public.
Mackay rubbished this suggestion at his presser today, saying Mourinho was merely looking for an excuse to take out his frustration.
To prove his point, he dragged up a precedent from the memory banks – from 10 years ago! – reminding Mourinho that his Porto side were accused of the very same thing against Celtic in the 2003 UEFA Cup Final.
What a memory! Case closed.
