Please look at this group on facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/2105720 ... ion=stream, it has been set up by my dad to help a long time family friend Ray Davies from Canton, who has had everything taken from him by conmen and is now on the verge of losing his house also, the full story is posted on the group and in 3 days over 500 people have joined the group to try and help Ray out. T
1)In 2002 two con men from Cardiff got hold of Ray Davies who served with 3 Para in Suez, like pedophiles they groomed him over months and found out he had in excess of 250k in savings, that he amassed from working overseas as a welder /steel erector since he left the forces, he never married and lived alone, he bought his house for cash, when they systematically stole his savings from him, and when it was all gone they then marched him into the Halifax and mortgaged his mortgage free house up for 50 k
2) They did this with the help of someone they knew within the Halifax, and at 72 years of age was allowed a forty year mortgage, but according to the bank they acted correctly, they relied on false pay slips given to them by the con men, which the Halifax accepted, due diligence? (I don’t think so) they did this with the help of a solicitor in Cardiff, who acted for the Halifax and Ray Davies on this transaction, no conflict of interest there then? This solicitor has since been struck off since, for other misdemeanors, again no need to raise an eyebrow, a bank would not allow this would they? NOOOOOO! The banks are respectable organizations, they would never allow this to happen, which is why the courts found in their favor, or could it be a nod and a wink. ( no this could not possibly happen) YES IT CAN !!! AND HAS
3) When this was brought to the attention of a prominent bookmaker in Cardiff , he made other friends of Ray aware of what had happened and was in the position and offered to pay the legal costs of taking the Halifax to court, going as far as paying 50k of his own money into court until the matter was sorted, unfortunately he was killed in a road accident before it could be actioned, this left Ray to fight the system himself , firstly he went to his MP Kevin Brennan who was as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike, then the police who more or less told Ray it was a civil matter, ( no surprise there then), then Ray tried himself through the Courts again a brick wall, with his dementia it has caused him no end of turmoil and stress the last 10 years, we have been to the banking ombudsman another wall, it makes you think, hence I have asked ex servicemen for their support and the response is mind blowing and I thank you all, there will be protests and press coverage in the coming weeks and months, and would also like to thank the bikers from the legion for their forthcoming assistance.
We need any ideas to make this bank mend the errors of their ways, they have now been taken over by Lloyds whom we have been in touch with, and will allow them one more opportunity to resolve this matter and allow this now vulnerable ex Para to have a peaceful existence for his last few years, unless he lives until he is 112 when the mortgage expires.
If the above is not at least inequality of bargaining or unfair contract, in the civil courts, it is definitely fraud and deception in the criminal courts and conspiracy, between the conmen and the bank.
In summary ALL parties concerned took advantage of this ex red berets age , his ill health and vulnerability to make this scam work, and all the bank have to do is unwind the illegal and immoral mortgage return his deeds, and maybe he can live a quiet life, maybe now Lloyds have taken over this will be possible and common sense can prevail for once.
