We should follow Southhampton's play they have a tremendous defensive record this season so far and also look threatening going forward

What an awful comparison. Southampton press teams relentlessly so it is hard to have any possession against them(hence their great defensive record) . But when teams do get chances they have a keeper in form in Boruc that they have to get past.
Southampton are a lot better than us right now so we can't just simply play like them.

Really hard to replicate.
They have 2 brilliant fullbacks and have one great centre back in Lovren.
Also got 2 great CDM's who are really dominant and good passers (Wanyama and Schniderlin. Sadly we only have that in Medel as Gunnarsson I feel doesn't really pass enough and gets caught out of possession a lot.
And they have great creative winger in Adam Lallana.
They have 2 brilliant fullbacks and have one great centre back in Lovren.
