This must be one of the only so called "Derby's" where this has not happened ( 2013-14 season NO ) IMO .

To be honest I would take 1 point from the 2 games now. They're the better team but I think we can cause problems at home by getting in their faces and stopping them playing with our high energy and work rate. I think we can get at least a point at home and hopefully when we play them away, they will be tired with a few injuries after their European adventure. But as long as Swansea don't do the double over us and we stay up this season, I will be very happy.

I hate the derbies usually, but not too bothered about them this time around. I genuinely think we are head and shoulders the better team so if we lose the battle im supremely confident we will still win the war and finish higher which wasn't always the case back in the championship - when if we lost to you then we would probably finish below you too. Double whammy.

You have a punchers chance though with the type of football you play. Its terrible to watch but its pretty effective against the better footballing sides, just trying to break the game down and hope you get a chance or two and stick one away. It worked for Greece in the Euros.

Will be two good occasions hopefully. As for the double, still cant see it myself.

It's fantastic that you like most of your fellow supporters will be over confident, I'm sure this rubs off on the players too, so it will make beating you all the more sweeter  and in my opinion slightly easier. Form and talent goes right out the window in these games and I believe that in Malky, we have for once a manager who knows how important winning this game is for the supporters, he and the team will not let us down :ayatollah: :malky:

As always im being completely and utterly honest.

As the underdogs and fighting relegation the result means far more to you than us. I think the same could be said about us in the Championship, it probably meant more to us. We had something to prove, we no longer do, its the other way around.

I say "us" loosely as im sure many Swans fans think just the same as you guys. However I can and always have had the ability to see with far more clarity. Id be delighted if we win and if i had to pick a match to win all season it would be this one. However it wont be a disaster if we lose, as long as we finish above you which im sure we will then im happy. And i have no concerns about that what so ever.

If i was told that we could do the double over you, but you would finish above us. Or we could lose both games and finish above you then I would take the latter every single time.

Im not sure how you can get "over confidence" from what I said.

Surely I said I doubt we will do the double and you definateky have a chance to beat us. My point was that these one off games arent really what our season is about. In the championship, being the underdogs, these games were huge for us. You are probably feeling now how we were back then. Compared to the feeling I had in the championship prior to the derbies im not terribly bothered. Not because i think we will win, but because we have nothing to prove, our league position and status now speak for itself.

It would be the forefront of my mind back in those days, i havent really given this one that much thought as of yet and its what 2 weeks away? That says everything to me.

Im sure you will fight tooth and nail. Im under no illusions.

I believe that 99% of our supporters would take 2wins against your lot over finishing the season above you in the league, all day long  Are you seriously saying that if we finish 17th you would be happy to lose both derbies as long as you finished 16th? You certainly must be a one off

Thats my point. You are underdogs with everything to prove hence why a lot hold that opinion. You wont get many of our fans having that opinion or at keast id like to think not.

Yes i would take 16th and two losses over 17th and two wins, in a heart beat.

Wanting to finish as high as possible?

Our goal as a team is to finish as high in the league as possible, not to beat Cardiff ffs. The fact you think that notion is moronic goes to prove exactly what I said in my opening post.

Yeah but 1 place higher??? fair enough if it was top half and 2 losses. Personally, I still wouldnt be happy that we'd lost to you twice. I hope we smash you to pieces and humiliate you in every way possible regardless of where we finish.

Then again, your not from swansea, you've admitted you dont like swansea or its people. You aint a real fan, just some weirdo in oz.

I don't know about moronic, but it's pretty daft  if you finished 16th one place above a team tipped for relegation all season and lost both derbies, then most people would see that as a total disaster, but not you  I think that tells all we need to know about Roath Magic

Any place higher. Doesnt matter if its 1 or 11. Which part of "our ambition is to finish as high as possible" is so confusing to you?

Why do I have to like a city and the people who live there to support the football club? Do I have to automatically love Manchester as a city and all the people there because I like OASIS?

Your views get odder and odder  the fact you think our ambition as a team is to beat Cardiff more than finish as high as possible is literally insanity

Id be incredibly disappointed. It sounds like a dissappointing season.

However you only gave me two options. The other one was finish below a team tipped for relegation if you remember, i took the option which had as finish above them

I didnt say I think swansea's ambition is to beat Cardiff. I think swansea's ambition is to finish a fair bit higher than 16th. Stop twisting things.

Re: " CARDIFF CITY V SWANSEA "

Im not twisting anything. our ambition is to finish as high as possible and I only had two options you pleb

the options given were.16th or 17th.

I chose 16th.

If i chose 17th then our main ambition wouldnt be to finish as high as possible, it would be to beat cardiff wouldnt it? But it isnt so the results of the derbies are irrelevant.

Maybe it is rocket science after all

If swansea finish 16th it will be a pretty poor season so whats 1 place if you get to do the double for the first time ever. Yeah it would still be higher than 17th well done! No flies on you eh!

Just telling you that our priority is to finish as high as we can.

I was questioning a 1 place higher finish but to lose both derby matches. Every football team aims to finish as high as possible. Just like 16th is higher than 17th. Any more Mr State The Obvious?

They are linked though as there was a caveat attached to them. If you understand finishing as high as possible is our priority then you would understand why I would chose that regardless of the derby results.... Otherwise the derby results would be our priority and not the league positions.

Cant say it any more clearly.
