Swansea Ticket

Tue Oct 22, 2013 9:42 pm

Ok so was just wondering what everyone's opinion were in this situation? I enquired about a ticket for a mate in which I was told I would have to offer over £200. I mean yes I'm first to admit I've asked for £40 a ticket which is £10 above face value, but do you lot agree with ripping your own fans off for £100 odd? Like I said just opinions.

If, for example, the ticket holder genuinely can't go, then it should be face value (preferably to a 'known' recipient)

Anything else is (effectively) touting

Just my honest opinion :ayatollah:

Things are worth what ever someone is willing to pay for it. When the time comes, we aren't going to sell Michu for £2m Just because thats what we bought him for - can assure you of that. Try closer to £25 million.

Isnt it your own club that promotes "intelligent pricing" in which higher demand games are charged at a higher rate?

Im mot sure the legal stand point of it, in fact it may be against some sort of rule. But from a moral stand point i would have no issue selling to the highest bidder. You aren't making them buy it off you,its up to them at the end of the day. And you yourself hike up your ticket by 25% purely to make a profit.

anything other than face value is touting and its wrong to rip off fans

So you will be advocating selling Campbell for 750k or whatever it was. Cant rip off other clubs surely? When you sell your house you will refuse any offers higher than what you paid regardless of the demand?

Selling football tickets above face value is illegal

you talk complete crap. Campbell was worth 650k at the time....michu was worth 2mil at the time... time moves on and players improve. The ticket is worth say 30. Not in the past, not in the future......the ticket price is for here and now

Comparing a ticket price to selling a player, you're really thick as s**t.

So you are lacking the understanding of the notion of supply and demand then?

Something is worth what someone is prepared to pay. This game is a big one and a sell out, therefor the value of the ticket increases. If the value hasnt increased then he wouldnt be able to even sell it for £50 let alone £200.

When tickets were readily available then they were worth £30 at the time, they are now all gone so anyone wanting them will have to pay more. Its simple economics.

Swansea shirts were worth £40 last year but all sold out at Xmas, they were then going on ebay for £75-£85. Of there was another 15,000 made then prices would come back down to their natural level. Demand created price increases and its safe to say a derby ticket is in high demand.

Ive interpreted the question as it was clearly asked.mit was from a moral stand point, not a legal one. And for me there is no less morality in selling your house you bought for a profit as selling a ticket you bought for a profit. The biyer will only pay what he feels that it is worth to him.

Easy.
