Is Marshalls confidence shot??!

Tue Oct 22, 2013 8:02 pm

He looked poor after the mistake for the first goal, let's hope there is no permanent damage, we need an in form Marshall for Saturday :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Do you think it will affect him, they are a funny bunch goalkeepers, like strikers confidence plays a massive role in their decision making???

A big pressure game the week after too, we need him at his best.

I hope his confidence doesnt go because we've all seen what happened last time it went.
he has nothing to worry about theirs keepers in the championship capable of playing in the prem and marshall was the best in the league

4th goal wasn't it? The only goal you could blame him for. Still a test of temperament for him but he's been outstanding this season as I think we all agree :ayatollah:

Maybe on the day but he will be back with something to prove :ayatollah:

Bouncing the ball virtually on the Chelsea players foot, no that's a great idea, he must be a visionary, I expect we will see all the premier keeper doing it this weekend

Yes it was a foul, and the goal shouldn't have stood, but it was a bloody stupid thing to do, and the fact that he will never do it again means he has learned from it, and it was a mistake.

Will his confidence go after letting in a weak goal and the first goal which has been questioned over the past few days, delusional.

In short, no. Toughest position on the pitch and he's our best player IMO. His shot-stop reactions this season thus far have been better than any PL GK by a long chalk. Marshy's the real deal and he will have learnt this lesson well and would have put it to the back of his mind by 6pm last Saturday. Marvellous GK. Very poor PL ref decision yet again and even the pundits were unsure of the rule. What other player has consistently done the business for us over the last 2 seasons and stepped up to the PL without missing a beat? DM's yer man. Och Aye.

What a load of bollocks. Eto put his foot in to kick the ball away which is a foul. He didnt bounce it on his foot.
If he had bounced the ball then kicked it nobody would have said "that was a stupid thing to do, Eto could have got a foot on that" now would they?

Poor referring and Marshall gets slated. Absolute nonsense.

David Marshall is probably the best Keeper we have ever had.
He has saved us more points this season alone than he has ever lost for us since he joined.

One incident and it affected him for the rest of the match.
Dave is a strong character and will be determined to put this while saga behind him.
He has my utmost confidence .

Sounds like your confidence is shot! Too much negativity from some 'fans'. If your nerves can't take it try watching tiddleywinks instead.

He has made mistakes before and will again, he is a goalkeeper it happens. It was only the Hazard goal he was at fault for, im sure he will be fine.

Hhhhmmmmmmmmmmm Gary Neville one of the best pundits on Sky and on television generally would disagree, but we are all entitled tumour opinions, and if you feel he had a good game and it didn't affect him that's fine.

Personally I still think it was a poor game by his standards, he handled the ball outside his area aswell, people were going mental when Spurs keeper did the same, he bounced the ball right next to Ramires and they scored from it, and two of the other goals were weak to IMO.

Time will tell I am not being negative, he has been brilliant this season, fingers crossed it's just one poor game, I am not saying it will affect him, but it may??? It was just a talking point, we will soon see ......

I hope so too mate. From what I saw he just wasn't at his usually consistent best. He's the player I least worry about in terms of form. 3 pts Saturday please lads.
